Jackie Robinson Boys & Girls Club holds 5th Annual Golf Tournament

Sep. 14—CAIRO- The Jackie Robinson Boys & Girls Club held its 5th Annual Golf Tournament on Thursday, September 7 at the Tired Creek Golf Club. Thirteen teams came out and enjoyed a day of golf in support of the JRBGC for a great cause.

The JRBGC raised $9,970 throughout the tournament, allowing them to continue providing an outlet for kids in the community.

Thomasville's own Marguerite Neel Williams Boys & Girls Club took home the 1st Place Gross prize. Members of the team included Lee Wagner, Kendall Lindsay, Barry Taylor and Thaxter Denfield.

The 1st Place Net prize-winning team was Thomasville Ford, consisting of Tim Cleveland, Tim Simmons, Curtis Powell and Andrew Ingram.

Total Floor Care took home the 2nd Place Net Prize, while Forebros Golf/ Gainous State Farm won the 3rd Place Net prize.

JTEKT led in sponsoring with the big hole in one level. Eagle sponsors were Polarmatic, Stallings Motors, United National Bank, Ga Tractor, Kimmel Tractor, VEMA, Cairo Police Dept. Birdie sponsors were Total Floor Care, Marguerite Neel Williams Boys & Girls Clubs of Thomasville, Bryan Gainous State Farm, Thomasville Ford. Par sponsorships were Ken Young Co., First National Bank, Center Drugs, Tommy Gainous, The Law Offices of Charlie Ferenchick, Drew Oil Co., Southern Insurance, Church of Grady County Youth Ministries.

"We really appreciate our board members, JRBGC staff and everyone else that came together in support of the club and its mission to help make this event such a great success. Our children are definitely our future so we must lead by example" said JRBGC Director Stephen Francis. "Also a special thanks to Hobson Chevrolet for providing the Hole in One car opportunity along with oil change raffle prizes. We also enjoyed some really great tasting grilled/fried chicken breast sandwiches by Hole in One Bar & Grill (Deanna Newton)" Francis concluded.
