Video Transcript

JASON FITZ: It's time for Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda with Quarterback Prospect Fits. And JJ McCarthy, could they, Washington? Yes, the smoke is real.

The more we talk to insiders, the more we start to talk to people in the know, there is a real love of JJ within that organization. Plus, take a look at where their GM came from, San Francisco. What type of quarterback did they have the most success with? Jimmy G. and Brock Purdy, not Trey Lance. Now, for a myriad of reasons, but that's just real. It's gonna be up to Kliff Kingsbury to adjust what he does if he wants to line up with the GM, who ultimately makes the decision.

What about would they, Minnesota? Yes, absolutely. I mean, if you're Minnesota, you want a smart quarterback. Look at what we've learned from the college game. JJ is the only quarterback that was being asked to run everything in the offense himself-- the audibles, the recognition. Sideline wasn't helping. His cerebral understanding of the game is without question unmatched. So how that plays into an offense as complicated as Minnesota with weapons he can throw to, it makes perfect sense.

That leads us to should they, the Giants? No. And this is simple. Just personality has to matter. I've talked to JJ a few times and he's a very cerebral kid. He talks about his meditation.

He takes these things seriously. That's also in a media market like New York, you got to wonder if it's the best fit. On top of all of that, when you look at Brian Daboll and the type of quarterback he loves, the type of quarterback, Josh Allen, he's had the most success with, I believe there are better quarterbacks in this year's draft for what Daboll wants to do. And I believe there are better markets for JJ.
