Italian police arrest four for allegedly stealing Formula One driver Charles Leclerc's watch

Italian authorities have arrested three men and one woman in connection with the theft of a luxury watch that belonged to Formula One driver Charles Leclerc.

The theft took place on April 18, 2022, in Viareggio, located in Tuscany.

Two people wearing motorcycle helmets approached Leclerc to ask for a photo and autographs and after securing the watch, which was a Richard Mille 67-02 timepiece valued at $320,000, two suspects escaped on a scooter and two others took off in an SUV.

Police said that they secured two "valuable watches, the provenance of which will be investigated further," after searching the home of one of the suspects and also released footage showing a car chase after the watch was stolen.
