Iron Bowl selected as SEC on CBS Game of the Week
Many would argue that the Iron Bowl is the best rivalry game in all of college football. The historic battle between Alabama and Auburn has produced many iconic moments over the years such as the kick six or John Metchie’s overtime winner in 2021 just among a few.
Both the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers have been national title winners during the Nick Saban era and every year there is much at stake. But, for the first time in a long time, neither side will be a national title contender heading into the Iron Bowl.
Even so, CBS selected the Iron Bowl as their game of the week because they know the popularity it draws. In such intense rivalries, rankings and favorites go out the window and it’s all about who wants it more.
As the SEC on CBS game of the week, the kickoff time will be 3:30 p.m. EST and can guarantee nearly all eyes on it.
