Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Florida Gulf Coast Eagles: Streaming, broadcast info for Saturday
The No. 6 Iowa Hawkeyes (5-1) return to action tonight against the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles (4-1) in the semifinals of the Gulf Coast Showcase from Hertz Arena in Estero, Fla.
Iowa got off to a roaring start in the event, blitzing Purdue-Fort Wayne, 98-59, on Black Friday. Senior star Caitlin Clark scored 29 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including a 6-of-9 day from 3-point range. It was the first time this season that Clark knocked down six or more treys.
The West Des Moines product was also sharing the rock early and often. Clark tallied six assists in the opening quarter against the Mastodons, marking the fifth time in her career that she has recorded six or more assists in a quarter.
Redshirt junior center Sharon Goodman and sophomore forward Hannah Stuelke each finished with double-figure scoring days. Goodman connected on 6-of-7 field goal tries for 16 points. Stuelke added 13 points on a 6-for-10 shooting day with eight rebounds.
Graduate guard Kate Martin had another efficient day for the Hawkeyes, knocking down all four of her shots and finishing with nine points, five rebounds and three assists.
Now, Iowa gets a crack at a talented Florida Gulf Coast team in the semifinals. The Eagles used their defense to pull away from Delaware, winning 83-68. Florida Gulf Coast forced 26 Delaware turnovers.
Redshirt junior Maddie Antenucci led the way for Florida Gulf Coast, scoring 20 points on 8-of-17 shooting. Three other Eagles finished in double-figure scoring.
Senior guard Dolly Cairns and fifth-year forward Uju Ezeudu each scored 15 points, while redshirt senior guard Brylee Bartram added 11.
It should be another terrific early-season test for the Hawkeyes. FGCU has advanced to nine NCAA Tournaments over the past 12 years. The Eagles have won four NCAA Tournament games over that span. FGCU has also registered six seasons of 30 or more wins during the past nine years.
On the other half of the bracket, No. 17 North Carolina will face No. 22 Kansas State for a berth in the Gulf Coast Showcase championship game beginning at 4 p.m. CT.
The Tar Heels beat Vermont, 54-51, while the Wildcats toppled Western Kentucky, 77-61.

Scouting Florida Gulf Coast
Dolly Cairns was named the ASUN Newcomer of the Week for her team-leading performances against Kentucky and Florida International University.
The Eagles climbed to No. 3 in the latest CollegeInsider.com mid-major Top 25 poll. FGCU is the only mid-major with four straight Top 25 finishes in the AP Poll over the last four seasons.
The Green & Blue has finished in the Top 25 in five out of the last six years.
FGCU, South Carolina, Stanford and UConn are the only four DI programs to record 30-or-more wins in three of the last five seasons.
Maddie Antenucci dropped a career-high and a team-leading 20 points for FGCU in the victory over Delaware.
Three fellow Eagles reached double-figures in the win as Dolly Cairns and Uju Ezeudu both added 15 points, while Brylee Bartram produced a season-high 11.
Despite being outrounded by Delaware, FGCU defensively forced the Blue Hens into 26 turnovers, just one short of tying the single-game program record. The Eagles scored 27 points off those miscues.
Iowa's Postgame Notes vs. Purdue-Fort Wayne
Caitlin Clark recorded 29 points (8-of-13 FG, 6-of-9 3-point FG), eight assists, three rebounds, and three steals.
Gabbie Marshall became the first Iowa women’s basketball player to record 200 3-pointers and 200 steals in a career.
Clark’s six assists in the first quarter ties for second-most by an individual in a quarter in Iowa women’s basketball history. It marks the fifth time in her career she has recorded six or more assists in a quarter.
Clark recorded a season-high six 3-pointers made.
Clark has netted a 3-point basket in 64 consecutive games, which is an NCAA-best.
Lisa Bluder is one win shy of 500 career wins at the University of Iowa.
Sharon Goodman recorded her second-highest point total of the season with 16 points.
Goodman has shot 60% or better from the floor in five out of six games this year.
Hannah Stuelke has netted double figures in four out of six games this season.
Kate Martin was a perfect 4-for-4 from the floor. Martin had nine points, five rebounds, three assists, and three blocks.
Martin ties her career high for blocks in a game, blocking three.
