Injury update from Vikings Wednesday walkthrough

Wednesday’s practice for the Minnesota Vikings sparked a bit of conversation, not about the play on the field but those not on the field.

ESPN’s Kevin Seifert reported that due to the “walk-through speed”, both Brian O’Neill and Danielle Hunter saw their first-team reps in Wednesday’s practice practice.

After O’Neill suffered a devastating Achilles injury to end his 2022 season and Hunter’s checkered injury history, easing them into the 2023 season seems the best course of action. Both of them will be key cogs on their respective lines this season.

After limping off the practice field on Tuesday, Alexander Mattison was back on the field and participating. This is a great sign for the projected bell-cow back for this offense.

Another player who did not finish practice on Tuesday was cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. After his rookie season ended with an abrupt knee injury, Minnesota is relying on Booth, Jr. to stay healthy and develop into a starting-caliber cornerback.

Seifert did not see defensive lineman Marcus Davenport or wide receiver Jalen Nailor on the practice field.
