Injury Report: Draymond Green (foot) to miss remainder of Golden State’s road trip
During the Golden State Warriors’ two-game losing streak to start the season, Steve Kerr’s rotation has been missing a key piece. Draymond Green has been ruled out for Golden State’s first pair of contests against the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks due to an injury in his right foot. Green will now be sidelined for his third consecutive game.
On Sunday, Kerr ruled out Green against the Chicago Bulls. Although Green has participated in practice and scrimmages, the Warriors are being patient with their All-Star forward. The former Defensive Player of the Year will also miss the final stop of Golden State’s four-game road trip in Detroit on Tuesday.
Draymond got through the scrimmage really well yesterday and he felt good. We just felt that from a conditioning standpoint, it made more sense to give him the next two games off. He’s not going to play tonight or in Detroit. He’s doing really well, and the foot has healed nicely, but again, he was out with the league protocols and the conditioning level is important because it’s very risky to put somebody out there who’s not quite ready from a conditioning standpoint. It leaves people vulnerable. We feel better about getting him another four or five days of work before he gets on the floor.

Although Green isn’t on the floor, he’s still taking the time to work with Golden State’s 2020 No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman. During the Warriors’ 39-point loss to the Bucks on Christmas Day, Green was caught coaching up the rookie on the sideline.

With Green sidelined, Kerr has opted to start NBA sophomore, Eric Paschall. Juan Toscano-Anderson has received minutes behind Paschall.
Without Green and Marquese Chriss slated to miss the remainder of the season with a broken leg, Kerr will have to get creative with his rotation in the frontcourt. With a thin depth chart, Wiseman and Kevon Looney could also see increased roles against Chicago and Detroit.
