Injury update on Bills LB Terrel Bernard

The Buffalo Bills defeated the Indianapolis Colts in their preseason opener.

Terrel Bernard did not factor into the 23-19 win.

After leaving the final practice of training camp early on Thursday, the linebacker was declared to have a hamstring injury. Because of that knock, he did not play against the Colts.

After the game, there were a few updates to be found.

The first was the eye test. WROC-TV spotted Bernard walking onto the field after the final whistle. Bernard looked good and did not appear to be in any serious pain:

The other came from Sean McDermott. Buffalo’s head coach did not appear to want to put any pressure on Bernard to get back on the field.

“I don’t know how long it’s going to be,” McDermott said via video conference.

McDermott’s comments create a bit of a grey area regarding Bernard’s status going forward. However, the physical eye test on Bernard does create some optimism.

Bills Wire will provide updates throughout the upcoming week ahead of Buffalo’s next preseason contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
