Indianapolis 500, Formula 1, NASCAR have big races on same day: TV, streaming

May 26 marks the biggest day in auto racing in 2024. Two of the world's most prestigious races – Formula One's Monaco Grand Prix and IndyCar's Indianapolis 500 – take place on that day. Those two races, along with the 24 Hours of Le Mans (scheduled for June 15-16), comprise the Triple Crown of motor sports.

NASCAR Cup's longest race of the season, the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte, N.C., caps off the action. Kyle Larson, a NASCAR Cup star, plans on racing at Indy and Charlotte, a feat last accomplished in 2014 by Kurt Busch.

Formula 1: Monaco Grand Prix

Time: 9 a.m. ET

TV: ABC

Race details: 78 laps on a 19-turn, 2.07-mile (3.337 km) course on the streets of the principality on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, just west of Italy. The inaugural F1 version of the race was in 1950, and has been run continuously every year, except 2020, since 1955. It was run 10 times before F1 took over jurisdiction.

Race details: 200 laps on a 2.5-mile oval (4.02 km). This is the 108th running of the race that began in 1911 and has been run continuously since 1946. Here is the 33-car starting grid.

Race details: 400 laps on the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway 1.5-mile oval (2.41 km). The race started as the World 600 in 1960.
