Indiana women's basketball guard Sydney Parrish out indefinitely with foot injury

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana women's basketball guard Sydney Parrish is out indefinitely, according to coach Teri Moren.

Parrish suffered a right foot injury in practice in the days leading up to IU's 74-68 win over Purdue. While she made the trip to West Lafayette, the former Oregon transfer was on crutches with a boot on her foot.

Moren offered a brief update on Parrish's status on Friday morning.

"She's out indefinitely, and her status is just going to be updated game-to-game," Moren said. "She's in great hands. We'll try to get back as quickly, but as safely as we can. That's where it's at."

The senior is averaging 10.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game this season. She announced plans earlier this season to take advantage of her extra year of COVID-19 eligibilty and play for Indiana in 2024-25.

Sophomore guard Lexus Bargesser started her first career game (46 games played) in place of Parrish. Bargesser didn't score any points, but had three rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 34 minutes.
