Indiana Fever snap 20-game losing streak, beat Atlanta on the road
The Indiana Fever really needed a win Sunday in Atlanta.
The Fever entered on a 20-game losing streak — tied with the 2011 Tulsa Shock for the WNBA record for consecutive losses. One more loss, and the record would be Indiana's outright.
That didn't happen.

The Fever took down the Dream, 90-87, at the Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta, marking their first win since June 19, 2022. The victory was Christie Sides' first as a WNBA head coach and No. 1 pick Aliyah Boston's as a professional basketball player.
The game went back and forth in the final minutes, as Indiana was up 88-87 when it was called for a foul. Sides successfully challenged the foul, the Fever got the ball back, and Kelsey Mitchell drew a foul to make two free throws. Indiana was up three points with 13.2 seconds left, and the Dream had the ball. But as time ticked down, Atlanta's Rhyne Howard missed a 3-pointer to end the game.
Six Fever players finished the game in double digits. NaLyssa Smith led the Fever's effort with a double-double, registering 23 points and 13 rebounds. Mitchell followed with 15 points; Boston had 13 points and seven rebounds; Erica Wheeler garnered 11 points; Queen Egbo and Kristy Wallace both had 10.
The Fever play next against Connecticut on Tuesday. Indiana and Connecticut already met in the season-opener, and the Fever fell, 70-61.
