Ahead of the Cincinnati Reds' 2024 Opening Day game Thursday against the Washington Nationals at Great American Ball Park, Bally Sports Ohio analyst and "Reds Live" co-host Sam LeCure, a Cincinnati pitcher from 2010 to 2015, expressed disappointment with Noelvi Marte over the Reds infielder's 80-game suspension for a violation of Major League Baseball's performance-enhancing drug policy.

"Noelvi Marte: I'm pretty upset with him," LeCure said during Bally Sports' pregame broadcast. "Because there's just so many resources that you have at your disposal to make sure things like this - he wasn't trying to cheat. You know, it was some cream that he put on his foot, you know, or whatever it was that was contaminated. I'm mad at him. But I'm excited for him to get back because I really think he's a special player."

"The Marte thing, I'm just flat ass disappointed," longtime Reds on Radio broadcaster Marty Brennaman told Chick Ludwig Wednesday night on 700 WLW-AM.

Last season, the 22-year-old Marte batted .316 with an OPS of .822 in 123 plate appearances for the Reds.
