Ilya Bryzgalov, NHL All-Star Game reporter, is our everything (Video)

If you’ve read this blog or heard our podcasts, you know we have a more-than-slight obsession with former NHL goalie Ilya Bryzgalov.

The man who gave us “Why You Heff To Be Mad? It’s Only Hockey.” The man who spun tales of the universe during “HBO 24/7.” The man who refused to play in “Vin-ee-peg” because of its lack of parks. The man whose adversarial relationship with bears is the stuff of legend.

So it was a bit of genius to unleash Bryz on the NHL All-Star Game as a reporter. Don’t get me wrong, The Players’ Tribune has done a great many things right over the years. But this … this was the rightest.

The full video is above, and it’s amazing. Talking politics with avowed Republican Ryan Suter. Asking math questions of NHL players. It’s the best.
