IHSAA girls basketball IndyStar 2023-24 All-Indy team

This year, we're bringing back something IndyStar used to do: separate all-East, West, North, South and Indy postseason teams. These are in addition to our Super Team, which honors Central Indiana's best of the best. But we cover more than 80 high schools, and there are a lot of girls basketball players worthy of recognition — well beyond the 15 Super Team members.

These teams were selected via consultation with IndyStar Preps Insider Brian Haenchen and input from area coaches.

FIRST TEAM

Laila Abdurraqib, Lawrence Central, Jr. —  The Bears' point guard averaged 11.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.3 steals for the state champion Bears. Abdurraqib shot 45% from the field, 39% from 3 and 81% at the line. An All-MIC selection and Indiana Junior All-Star (blue group), Abdurraqib also earned IBCA underclass Supreme 15 honors.

Olivia Berzai, Bishop Chatard, So. — An All-City selection, Berzai averaged team-highs in scoring (12.0) and steals (2.4), and was Chatard's second-leading rebounder (6.3). She ranked top-10 in program history for free throws made (62), rebounds (176) and blocks (24) in a single season. A 46% shooter from the field, Berzai drilled the game-winning 3 in overtime to beat Cathedral in the City championship game.

Denyha Jacobs, Warren Central, Sr. — An IBCA senior all-state Supreme 15 and An All-Marion County pick, Jacobs scored at least 20 points 13 times this season, including 34 against Hamilton Southeastern and 32 against Pike. She averaged 20.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.1 steals and 2.5 assists per game.

Jaylah Lampley, Lawrence Central, Jr. — A core Indiana Junior All-Star, Lampley led Lawrence Central to its first state championship in program history, averaging 18.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.1 steals. Lampley, an All-Marion County pick and IBCA underclass all-state Supreme 15 pick, shot 45% from the floor and 36% from 3. Thousgh only a junior, she's already the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,276 career points so far.

Lola Lampley, Lawrence Central, So. — An All-Marion County pick, the younger Lampley sister played a starring role in the Bears' 4A championship run, averaging 10.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.4 blocks. She scored a season-high 20 points to help LC beat Lawrence North by two in the Marion County quarterfinals.

SECOND TEAM

Anna Caskey, Bishop Chatard, Jr. — Caskey averaged 11.9 points and 11.2 rebounds for the regional champion Trojans. An All-City pick, she posted 15 double-doubles shot 49% from the field. She scored 16 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in a 64-60 regional win over Indian Creek.

Mya Davis, Heritage Christian, Sr. — An IBCA all-state honorable mention selection, Davis led the Eagles in scoring (17.4), assists (2.9) and steals (4.7). Davis, who earned All-City honors, scored more than 20 points 12 times this season, including a 33 in a regular-season finale win over Park Tudor.

Kya Hurt, Lawrence North, Jr. — The Wildcats' leader in points (11.3) and assists (4.1) earned All-Marion County, All-MIC and IBCA underclass all-state honors this season. She hit nine field goals (including the game-winner at the buzzer) and racked up 21 points in a 66-63 win over Gibson Southern in December.

Kayla Lacombe, Tech, Sr. — Among the state's top scorers at 26.8 points per game, Lacombe also averaged 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.9 steals. An All-City selection, she scored 52 points against Phalen Academy and ended the season scoring 43 of Tech's 51 points in a sectional loss to Warren Central. She finished her career with 1,175 points and earned IBCA senior all-state honorable mention honors.

Aniyah McKenzie, Lawrence Central, So. — McKenzie averaged 11.4 points and 6.1 rebounds, and shot 53% from the field. An All-Marion County pick, she scored in double figures in 10 of her final 14 games, including a 12-point performance in the Class 4A state final win over Lake Central.

THIRD TEAM

Komari Booker, Pike, So. — An All-Marion County pick, Booker was good for nearly a double-double per game, averaging around 10.6 points and 9.8 rebounds (plus 2.1 steals and 1.0 blocks). She shot 40% from the field and scored a team-high 16 points and 10 rebounds to help beat rival Roncalli in the sectional semifinals.

Lily Graves, Franklin Central, Jr. — An All-Marion County pick and Indiana Junior All-Star (red group), Graves averaged 11.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals for the sectional runner-up Flashes. She was also earned IBCA underclass all-state honorable mention honors.

Elliot Leffler, Roncalli, Fr. — Leffler finished the season averaging 13 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.5 steals over 22 games. She announced herself with 24 points in her varsity debut against Triton Central. She finished the year with a 20-point, 10-rebound performance in a sectional loss to Pike.

Taylor Lewis, Cathedral, Sr. — Lewis was an All-City and IBCA senior all-state honorable mention pick this season. She averaged 12.0 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks. She will play volleyball at Villanova next season.

Saniya Smith, Pike, Fr. — Smith led the sectional champion Red Devils in points (12.6 per game) and steals (2.7 per game), while also contributing 2.5 assists per game. She debuted with 20 points and three steals vs. Avon, dropped 25 points on Fishers and logged 16 points, three assists and two steals in the sectional final vs. Franklin Central.
