IHSAA boys soccer: See who made this year's ALL-USA Central Indiana Super Team

The 2023 Indiana high school boys soccer season is in the books.

Meet this year's ALL-USA Central Indiana boys soccer Super Team, honoring the best of the best from around the area. Players were selected based on coach nominations and comments, individual statistics and team performance.

FIRST TEAM

Anelson Azard, Pike, Sr., F

An electrifying talent, Azard scored a school-record 45 goals for the two-time sectional champions. He had 12 multi-goal games, including a two-goal showing in the sectional championship game vs. Brownsburg. He also scored the equalizer late in regulation vs. Carmel during the regional semifinals. Azard finishes his two-year career with 67 goals.

Kyle Clayton, Fishers, Sr., F

The IUPUI commit eclipsed the program's single-season assists record (17) and the career marks for both goals (43) and points (116). Clayton finished the season with 18 goals, and registered at least a point in all but two games during his senior season. The two-time all-state honoree also collected 30 career assists.

Cal Kurzawa, Cathedral, Jr., F

A prolific, well-rounded attacker, Kurzawa racked up 27 goals and 20 assists for the Class 3A runner-up Irish. He scored a goal and an assist in the regional semifinals vs. East Central, then struck twice to lift them to victory over Carmel in the regional championship. Kurzawa has 48 goals and 34 assists for his career.

Wilgene Dambreville, North Central, Sr., F

Dambreville upped his career-highs in both goals (19) and assists (5). He scored the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Carmel, picked up an assist in a 4-4 draw with Fishers and scored twice in a 3-1 win over Ben Davis. The senior forward totaled 29 goals and eight assists over the past two seasons.

Christian Nielsen, Carmel, Sr., F

A towering presence up top, Nielsen registered 18 goals and eight assists with five multi-goal games, including a brace vs. Zionsville in the opener and a hat trick in a 3-0 win over Cathedral. He logged three goals and three assists over five state tournament games for the regional runner-up Hounds.

Kevens Saint Paul, Speedway, Sr., F

Praised by coach Dean Heaviland for his excellent speed and touch, and "incredible" finishing ability, Saint Paul racked up 40 goals and seven assists for the regional runner-up Sparkplugs. He totaled 67 goals in two varsity seasons.

Ely Detty, Center Grove, Sr., M

The Kentucky commit matched his goal total from the past two seasons combined as a senior, totaling 34 goals with 14 assists. Of his nine multi-goal games, five were hat tricks, including a five-goal outing vs. Whiteland and a four-goal effort vs. Terre Haute South. Detty graduates with 75 goals and 41 assists.

Connor Dora, Carmel, Sr., M

The only unanimous pick for all-District 3 honors and a three-time all-state honoree, Dora registered three goals and 13 assists his senior season. He assisted on the go-ahead goal in regionals vs. Pike. Carmel out-scored opponents 76-16 on the season.

Sam Holland, Noblesville, Sr., M

Holland was at the forefront of the Millers' attack, finishing with a team-high 17 goals and seven assists. He scored back-to-back hat tricks vs. Castle and Center Grove during the regular season, and netted the equalizer late in regulation vs. Lake Central in semistate. Holland will graduate with 35 goals and 22 assists over 70 career games.

Grant Porath, Brownsburg, Sr., M

The multi-sport standout notched a career-high 26 goals and 10 assists for the sectional runner-up Bulldogs. He scored four hat tricks — the second of which came in a wild 4-4 draw with HSE — and logged multiple assists twice. He finished his career with 64 goals and 24 assists.

Alex Pursch, Noblesville, Sr., M

Pursch contributed three goals and three assists on the attack — including an assist in the state championship game vs. Cathedral — and aided a Millers defense that limited opponents to just 17 goals amidst its 18-0-5 state championship run.

Quinn Warren, Brebeuf Jesuit, Sr., D/F

Warren's versatility made him an invaluable asset for the Braves, who could move him from center back to the attack when they needed an offensive spark. He capped his senior season with nine goals and four assists, while aiding a defense that limited opponents to 22 goals. Warren scored 23 goals and 10 assists in three varsity seasons.

Kasole Williams, Noblesville, Jr., D

Noblesville's Kasole Williams

A transplant from FC Cincinnati's MLS Next Academy, Williams was lights out in his first year with the three-time defending state champion Millers, helping a defense that allowed just 17 goals.

Adam Keleher, Carmel, Sr., GK

A two-time all-state pick, Keleher logged 103 saves with only 16 goals allowed and six shutouts. He allowed just three goals through the first three rounds of sectionals, then stood on his head to secure a penalty kicks win over Pike in the regional semifinals.

Cole Thompson, Noblesville, Sr., GK

Voted player of the year by the Indiana High School Soccer Coaches Association, Thompson allowed just 12 goals and made 66 saves over 21 games played. He recorded 10 shutouts and was an impressive 8-for-18 against penalty kick attempts (posted three straight PK victories to reach the state finals).

SECOND TEAM

Fynn Lahrsen, Cathedral, Sr., F

A dangerous 1v1 attacker and lethal up top with Kurzawa, Lahrsen accumulated 24 goals and 10 assists in his first high school season. He accounted for Cathedral's lone goals in losses to HSE and Pike, and picked up a goal and an assist in the regional championship vs. East Central.

Mateo Soria, Brebeuf Jesuit, Sr., F

The regional champion's leading scorer, Soria totaled 16 goals and four assists over 22 games. He scored the equalizer in a draw vs. Noblesville and collected a pair of assists vs. Park Tudor. Soria logged 21 goals and six assists over the past two seasons.

Julian Bell, Brebeuf Jesuit, Sr., M

Bell ranked second for the Braves with 12 goals and led the team with 11 assists. He had a hat trick plus two assists in a 5-1 win over Roncalli and scored a goal in an overtime win over Cascade in the regional semifinals.

Jack Bilyeu, Lawrence Central, Sr., M

Bilyeu had five goals and an assist entering this season. He posted 16 goals and five assists over 17 games played, with a season-opening hat trick and the equalizer vs. Ben Davis. Lawrence Central finished the season 11-5-1 with a 56-36 goal differential.

Weston Bradley, Brownsburg, Sr., M

The only midfielder to rank in the top five of the Hoosier Crossroads Conference for points, Bradley tallied 10 goals and 10 assists, with scores against Noblesville, HSE, Pike and Ben Davis. He finished his career with 15 goals and 22 assists.

Ben Church, Westfield, Sr., M

A defensive center midfielder, Church helped a Westfield defense that collected six shutouts and took a 6-1-2 run into sectionals. He also tallied four goals and three assists.

Noah Hamm, Heritage Christian, Sr., M

A talented defender who won the ball almost every time it was in his vicinity, Hamm helped the Eagles to a 13-6 finish that included a runner-up finish in the City tournament. He contributed three goals and nine assists to the attack, leaving him with 15 goals and 30 assists for his career.

Teddy Kramer, Park Tudor, Sr. M

After going for seven goals and four assists as a junior, Kramer made an impact defensively this season, aiding a Panthers defense that limited 10 opponents to a goal or less en route to their second consecutive semistate finals appearance.

Drew MacDonald, Hamilton Southeastern, Sr., M

The senior midfielder notched five goals and seven assists. He scored a goal and tallied a couple assists in a 2-1 win over Cathedral, and picked up a couple assists in a 4-4 draw vs. Brownsburg. He also scored the team's lone goals in 2-1 losses to Westfield and Noblesville.

Ari Moore, Cascade, Sr., M

Labeled the "heart of the team" by coach David Moeller, Moore registered eight goals and 11 assists for the sectional champion Cadets. He is capable of controlling the game from his center back position, and excelled on delivering set pieces and corners. He logged 22 goals and 23 assists for his career.

Max Reason, Noblesville, Sr., M

The 6-0 Reason registered a goal and four assists his senior year, and was a key contributor defensively for the Millers, as well.

Hayden Warneke, Carmel, Sr., M/F

The senior midfielder and forward ranked third on the team with 13 goals and second with 12 assists. Warneke, who scored the team's lone goal vs. Cathedral in the regional finals, logged 20 goals and 15 assists over two varsity seasons.

Ryan Minor, Zionsville, Sr., D

Minor was a key contributor for an Eagles outfit that out-scored opponents 43-17. His offensive stats included two goals and four assists. Minor will graduate with five goals and 10 assists.

Will Sandlin, Fishers, Sr., D

A four-year letterwinner and one of the state's top defenders, Sandlin was critical to the Tigers' backline, which allowed 18 goals through the first 12 games of the year (included Noblesville, Carmel, Zionsville, HSE and Westfield). The second team all-state honoree broke his leg in mid-September and missed the final month of the season.

JD Sever, Franklin, Sr., D

Sever anchored a Grizzly Cubs back line that conceded just 18 goals amidst a 13-3-1 finish that included a 7-0 mark in Mid-State Conference play. The kicker and punter for the football team, Sever also tallied three goals and four assists, giving him 15 goals and 16 assists for his career.

Luke Smith, Pike, Sr., D

A four-year varsity letter-winner and three-year starter, Smith captained a Red Devils defense that conceded just 29 goals over 23 games in 2023. He also jumped in on the attack, netting three goals and three assists.

THIRD TEAM

Micah Colvin, Hamilton Heights, Sr., F

Colvin led the Huskies to a 11-2-5 record, scoring 21 goals and 12 assists over 16 games. He had three assists in a 4-2 win over Park Tudor and finished the season with three hat tricks.

Ethan Edwards, Cascade, Sr., F

The Cadets' primary goal-scorer with a good first touch, Edwards matched the school record with 23 goals. He also added six assists and finished his career with 46 goals and 14 assists.

Greyson Hovermale, Pendleton Heights, Jr., F

The 5-11 Hovermale led the Arabians to a 12-4-1 finish (most wins since 2013), picking up 12 goals and eight assists. He scored twice in a 3-2 win over Heritage Christian and notched a goal and an assist in a 2-0 win over New Palestine.

Max Lock, Heritage Christian, Sr., F

A versatile scorer, Lock notched 19 goals and 13 assists this season. He finished his career with 33 goals and 29 assists.

Reid Spittler, Fishers, Jr., F

The speedy forward was responsible for nine goals and eight assists, including the game-winner in overtime vs. Hamilton Southeastern in the sectional semifinals.

Jack Wagner, Herron, Sr., F

Among the state leaders for assists (22), the 6-2 Wagner also scored 22 goals for the 11-3-2 Archaeans. His breakout senior campaign pushed his career totals to 45 goals and 34 assists.

Josh Byrd, Covenant Christian, Sr., M

Byrd powered Covenant Christian to the regional championship game, logging nine goals and five assists. The Taylor commit's mere presence drew the defense's attention and created opportunities for his teammates. He will graduate with 28 goals and 25 assists.

Elliott Canova, New Palestine, Sr., M

Canova racked up 13 goals and four assists, with scores in one-goal victories against New Castle and Greenwood (two goals in a 2-1 win). He finished his career with 43 goals and 15 assists over three varsity seasons (52 games played).

Arron Habecker, Zionsville, So., M

Habecker scored a career-high nine goals and five assists in his second varsity season, leaving him with 10 goals and nine assists for his career.

Ian Jackson, Cathedral, Sr., M

A creative talent out of the midfield, Jackson registered 12 goals and 13 assists for Cathedral, which out-scored opponents 80-26 on the year.

Elliott Scotten, Park Tudor, Jr., M/F

The Panthers' leading scorer, Scotten notched 16 goals over 19 games. He has 32 goals and 18 assists entering his senior season.

Mason Smith, Covenant Christian, Sr., M

A preseason transfer, Smith logged 17 goals and 10 assists, and would have had even more if secondary assists were included. He was an all-City Tournament honoree for the sectional champions.

Zane Biggerstaff, Avon, Sr., D

The Orioles went 8-3-3 with 20 goals allowed in the 14 games Biggerstaff played in this season. They surrendered 10 goals and lost all three games he missed.

Luke Gamble, Martinsville, Sr., D

The first team all-district pick anchored an Artesians defense that allowed only 18 goals through 19 games (11-6-2 record). Gamble had eight goals and two assists for his career.

Cyuzuzo Ndayambaje, Decatur Central, Sr., D

A two-time first team all-district honoree (includes Brebeuf Carmel, Cathedral, Zionsville and Pike), Ndayambaje posted nine goals and five assists, and was a critical piece to the Hawks' defense, routinely playing against the opponent's top player.

Shaun Rayman, Ben Davis, Sr., D

A left and center back with tremendous speed and strength, Rayman racked up 60 steals for a Giants bunch that reached eight wins for the first time since 2019. He jumped up and contributed on the attack, too, racking up 10 assists and a goal.

Angelo Badalow, Zionsville, Sr., GK

Badalow went 12-5-1 with 17 goals allowed and nine shutouts. He was credited with 43 saves over 1,265 game minutes (18 games).
