Houston guard Tramon Mark picks Arkansas out of transfer potal

Arkansas coach Eric Musselman picked up the team’s second player of the offseason via the transfer portal on Sunday as Houston guard Tramon Mark committed to the Razorbacks.

Mark averaged 10.1 points and 4.9 rebounds for the Cougars last year. A 6-foot-5 wing, his game is somewhat similar to that of Ricky Council, Arkansas’ leading scorer last season who isn’t expected to return to the team after announcing his entry into the NBA Draft.

Incidentally, the same day Council declared was the day Mark announced his top four choices.

Arkansas is likely to have to replace all three of its leading scorers, all from the backcourt, from the 2022-23 season. Council and freshman guard Nick Smith have already declared for the draft – as has guard Devo Davis – and the Razorbacks are waiting on guard Anthony Black to announce one way or the either. Black and Smith are projected lottery picks while Council is expected to go in the second round.

The Razorbacks previously landed Washington guard Keyon Menifield, too, on the same day as the Council announcement.
