Hillsborough Street to close for men’s Final Four NC State watch party

Portions of Hillsborough Street will be closed for the N.C. State men’s Final Four game Saturday night.

Mitch’s Tavern, 2426 Hillsborough St., is hosting a block and watch party with a large LED projector set up at the intersection of Horne and Hillsborough streets. Food trucks and beer and soda vendors will be near the Bell Tower during the family-friendly event.

While the bar will open at 11 a.m. Saturday, the festivities will begin at 5 p.m. in time for the 6:09 p.m. tip-off against Purdue.

These streets will be closed from 2 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday for the watch party:

  • Hillsborough Street from Brooks Avenue to Oberlin Road

  • Gardner Street from Hillsborough Street to Vanderbilt Avenue

  • Horne Street from Hillsborough Street to Vanderbilt Avenue

  • Chamberlain Street from Hillsborough Street to College Crest Alley

  • Pullen Road from Oberlin Road to Stinson Drive

Parking will be prohibited on these streets from noon Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday:

  • Hillsborough Street from Brooks Avenue to Oberlin Road

  • Gardner Street from Hillsborough Street to Vanderbilt Avenue

  • Pogue Street from Hillsborough Street to Vanderbilt Avenue

  • Horne Street from Hillsborough Street to Vanderbilt Avenue

  • Chamberlain Street from Hillsborough Street to Logan Court

  • Logan Court from Hillsborough Street to Hope Street

  • Enterprise Street from Hillsborough Street to Hope Street

  • Maiden Lane from Hillsborough Street to the dead-end
