HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Madison Central rolls to pair of titles

Aug. 19—Madison Central's varsity and junior varsity teams rolled to championships in impressive fashion on Saturday at the Knott County Rock and Block Tournament.

Both squads went undefeated — posting 5-0 records — on the way to titles.

The varsity topped Knott County Central in the final after beating Leslie County, Floyd Central, Powell County and East Ridge in pool play.

Ananiah Huguely had a .690 hitting percentage for the Lady Indians and finished with 30 kills. Avery Rigney had 47 kills for Central.

Emma Carter ripped 17 aces and had 111 assists. Camile Case had 38 digs to lead the back row.

Central's junior varsity did not drop a set in the tournament.

The Lady Indians beat East Ridge in the title game after beating Leslie County, Floyd Central, Powell County and East Ridge in pool play.

Central (6-1) is set to return to action today at home vs. Bourbon County.
