High school sports roundup for April 15-20

The spring season is well underway and conference play is starting to get underway.

Here's a look at Lenawee County sports for the week of April 15-20:

MONDAY

Girls Soccer

Lenawee Christian 4, Springport 0

ADRIAN — The Cougars got win No. 1 on the season behind a strong game from Callie Anderson.

Anderson scored a hat trick while Ema Crowley added the other goal and Faith Verlinde had an assist. Sam Shane made five saves for the shutout.

Blissfield 8, Dundee 0

DUNDEE — Avery Collins led the Royals to a strong in LCAA play as they beat the Vikings to get to 3-1 overall.

Collins had a hat trick and two assists while Maddy Forche and Hope Miller scored twice and Amelia Seiser scored once in the win.

Onsted 8, Hillsdale 0

HILLSDALE — The Wildcats are a win away from matching their 2023 season total as they're off to a 2-1 start with a blowout wins against Monroe Jefferson and Hillsdale.

Aubreigh Smith had a hat trick while Renee Ramsey scored twice. Izzy Raglow had a goal and two assists, Ava Ruttkofsky had a goal and an assist and Payton Brandly scored once.

Clinton 5, Ida 0

IDA — The Redwolves got the LCAA season started on the right foot with a shutout win of the Bluestreaks.

Aubrey Lauer had four goals while Anna Schaffner had a goal and an assist and Stella Starnes and Lily Trubiano had an assist each.

Tecumseh 2, Ypsilanti 2

TECUMSEH — Tecumseh started SEC White play with a draw.

Brook Stark netted a long shot and had a great corner kick to setup a Shaylinn Drouillard assist and Kylie Trevino goal.

Chelsea 5, Adrian 2

CHELSEA — The Maples started SEC White play with a tough road test and lost, 5-2.

Adrian trailed 4-0 at the half and have dropped two-straight matches.

Baseball

Adrian at Chelsea (DH)

The Maples began SEC White play strong, by taking down the Bulldogs, 6-5 and 6-3.

Sean Parker won Game 1, giving up one earned run, on five hits and striking out five. Tyler Bruggeman got a five-run seventh inning rally started with a double while Solomon Hiatt also hit a double in the rally. Tristan Hayes, who tied the game at the plate, got the save.

Adrian used the momentum and plated three runs in the first in Game 2. Hayes hit a triple in the win while Maverick Slavin hit a double. Hayes got the win, going a complete game and giving up one earned run and seven hits while striking out seven.

Tecumseh at Ypsilanti (DH)

Tecumseh got its first two wins of the season and begin SEC White play 2-0 with a pair of 18-0 mercy wins.

Tyler Clement got the win in Game 1, striking out seven and walking one, while Rocco Williams struck out eight and walked one in Game 2.

Max Bledsoe had four hits on the day with three doubles, three RBIs and three runs while Williams had two hits with a triple and Clement had a double. Eli Bagby hit a double as well.

Springport at Sand Creek (DH)

The Aggies rolled again to with 20-1 win and 11-2 win to improve to 9-0.

Ivan Wilkinson with a grand slam, two doubles and five RBIs in Game 1 while Parker Bowles and Dane Morrin each hit home runs as well, Jacob Schamberger was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Caleb Luck hit a double.

Carson Preston was 8-for-9 overall on the day with two doubles and seven RBIs. Trey Mepham added a double in Game 2.

Jordan Illenden got the win in Game 1, giving up one run, one hit and three walks while striking out eight. Bowles won Game 2.

Columbia Central at Addison (DH)

The Panthers dropped a pair of Cascades Conference games, falling to the Golden Eagles, 12-2 and 10-1.

Lacrosse

Tecumseh 11, Maumee Valley Country Day 7

TOLEDO — Tecumseh girls evened its record to 3-3 with a third-straight victory.

Jayden Polley and Emily Burgess each had four goals while Alexis Miller scored twice and Jazzy Reau had a goal and an assist. Emily Cuthbert had an assist while Jili Koeppe made six saves.

Tecumseh 12, Ypsilanti Lincoln 4

YPSILANTI — Tecumseh boys also picked up its third-straight win as it rolled against Lincoln in SEC White play.

Tecumseh is 5-2 on the season and 4-0 in SEC White action.

Softball

Morenci at Reading (DH)

The Bulldogs split a pair on the road, losing 7-4 before taking Game 2, 12-3 in five innings.

Addyson Valentine took the loss despite striking out 11 while allowing two earned runs on five hits. Valentine got the win in Game 2, striking out eight and allowing one hit.

Rowan Shaffer had two hits in Game 2 with a double and two RBIs while Zoey Martinez had a 2-run double.

Springport at Sand Creek (DH)

The Aggies dropped a pair of the Spartans, 14-4 and 19-10.

Claire Pickens hit a solo home run in Game 1 and added two more hits in Game 2, as did Maddie Osburn, Makenna Wheeler and Sydney Marks.

Whiteford 11, Blissfield 3

OTTAWA LAKE — The Royals weren't able to keep up with the Bobcats in a single non-conference game.

Savannah Stalker took the loss while Natalia Wilson, Bella Treloar and Mikayla Busdieker all hit doubles.

Columbia Central at Addison (DH)

The Panthers dropped a pair of Cascades Conference games, falling 29-2 and 16-3.

Adrian at Chelsea (DH)

The Maples dropped a pair of SEC White games against the Bulldogs, 15-0 and 16-0.

TUESDAY

Baseball

Onsted at Hudson (DH)

Xavier Gibbs had 16 strikeouts in Game 1 while giving up an unearned run on five hits. He was also 2-for-4 with a double.

Quinn Hiram went 3-for-5 with a home run, triple and four RBIs while Luke Manders was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, Alex Schmidt was 3-for-5 with a double and RBI and Talan Hutchinson hit a double and drove in a run.

In Game 2, JT Hill hit a triple and struck out 10 and gave up two hits and an unearned run. Hunter Kelley hit a double and drove in three, Mander went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs and Hutchinson hit another double.

The Wildcats kept rolling as they beat the Tigers in two LCAA games, 10-1 and 14-1.

KJ Walker had two hits while Liam Taylor hit a double in Game 1.

Madison at Hillsdale (DH)

The Trojans got a pair of LCAA wins as they beat the Hornets, 14-1 and 5-1.

Bryson Ballantyne struck out nine and gave up two hits in Game 1 while Norman Frederick had two hits and scored four runs. Landon Mohr and Jacob Byrd each had two hits in Game 1.

Cole Grof got the win in Game 2, striking out four in four innings.

Clinton 5, Ida 2

IDA — The Redwolves got their first LCAA win as they beat the Bluestreaks.

Jalen Stelzer went six innings and gave up two unearned runs, on four hits while striking out six and also going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Cole Breitenwischer also had two hits, as did Nik Shadley.

Lenawee Christian 4, Emmanuel Christian 2

ADRIAN — Nate Daniels delivered the Cougars first win as he gave up two unearned runs, on five hits while striking out nine.

Blake Drogowski was 3-for-3 while Tyler Salenbien hit a double.

Blissfield at Dundee (DH)

The Royals split with the Vikings, winning Game 1, 3-1, before falling 6-5 in Game 2.

Ethan Stines got the win in Game 1, striking out seven in six innings while Jon Cheney got the save. Jack Deatrick was 2-for-4.

Deatrick took the loss in Game 2 despite giving up two earned runs in five innings while striking out eight.

Chelsea 8, Adrian 3

ADRIAN — The Maples took their first loss as they were unable to get the sweep of the Bulldogs, but still took 2-of-3.

Julius Robichaud took the loss while Maverick Slavin was 2-for-2 with a double and Carter Howard drove in two runs and Sean Parker hit a double.

Columbia Central 10, Addison 0

BROOKLYN — The Panthers dropped Game 3 of the Cascades Conference series against the Golden Eagles.

Drew Spink hit a double as did Logan Jewell.

Softball

Clinton at Ida (DH)

The Redwolves rolled to a pair of LCAA wins, 13-2 and 12-2.

Kendall Phillip gave up no earned runs and three hits while striking out nine in Game 1 before Taryn Hernandez gave up two runs, on six hits and struck out three in Game 2.

Annabell Preston was 2-for-3 with an RBI in Game 1 while Lola Szczesniak and Hernandez drove in two runs.

Game 2 Phillip was 4-for-4 with a home run, double and five RBIs while Szczesniak was 3-for-4, Ashlynn Benschoter was 2-for-2 and two RBIs and Raven Aldridge was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Madison at Hillsdale (DH)

The Trojans won a pair of LCAA games as they beat the Hornets 16-4 and 19-4.

Camylie Sower won Game 1 with no earned runs, three hits, three walks and eight strikeouts. Caylan Sower was 4-for-5 with two triples, three RBIs and three runs while Jazlyn Zaszczurynski was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, Micajah Briggs, Jamairah Powers and Mya Solis each had two hits with Briggs driving in four runs.

Zaszczurynski gave up four runs, on four hits and a walk while striking out two in Game 2. Caylan Sower was 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and three runs while Roni Flores was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Onsted at Hudson (DH)

The Tigers won both LCAA games as they beat the Wildcats, 10-0 and 18-2.

Teagan Arredondo tossed nine innings total, giving up two runs (none earned), on one hit, three walks and 10 strikeouts.

Taylor Kopin went 3-for-5 on the day with two home runs, a double, eight RBIs and five runs scored. Ryen Rogers had two hits with four RBIs, Arredondo had two hits with a double and two RBIs. Sam Anderson had three hits total while Malia Grayer and Dinah Horwath each had two hits.

Olivia Harding had the Wildcats' lone hit on the day in Game 2.

Blissfield at Dundee (DH)

The Royals split with the Vikings, winning 6-4 before dropping an 8-2 decision.

Bella Treloar struck out 11 in the win while Jessie White drove in two runs and Natalia Wilson was 3-for-4 at the plate. Nicole Brewer took the loss in Game 2.

Track and Field

Adrian, Tecumseh, Jackson at Ypsilanti

The Adrian girls and Tecumseh boys beat all three opponents while the Tecumseh girls went 2-1 and the Adrian boys 2-1.

AJ Bryan won the 200-meter dash (23.27) for the Tecumseh boys while Bryson McCutcheon won the discus (122-feet-9.5-inches) and Declan Cornish won the high jump (6-0).

Sophy Skeels won the 800 (2:33.22), 1,600 (5:25.46) and 3,200 (11:50.24) and Haylee Vore won the high hurdles (19.63) for the Adrian girls while 4x800 team won at 8:18.70 and Teagyn Blevins won the pole vault (6-6).

Braylon Petty won the 800 (2:04.39) and 3,200 (10:20.97), Isaiah Fox won the high hurdles (15.73), intermediate hurdles (43.06) and long jump (19-10) and Moises Salazar won the 1,600 (4:35.9) for the Adrian boys and the 4x800 team won at 11:29.10 while Radon Love won the shot put (43-7.5) and William Winckles won the pole vault (12-0). Addison Lucas won the intermediate hurdles (52.84) for the Tecumseh girls while the 4x100 won at 45.43 and Morgan Manwaring won the shot put (31-0.5) and discus (79-2.25) and Amaria Brown on the high jump (4-10).

Blissfield, Hillsdale at Madison

The Madison girls beat both Blissfield and Hillsdale while the Blissfield girls went 1-1, the Madison boys went 1-1 and the Blissfield boys were 0-2.

Jillian Kendrick won the 100 (13.23) and 200 (28.20) while Emily Murry won the high hurdles (19.01) and Tatum Wilson won the intermediate hurdles (54.97) for Madison. Kendrick, Christiana Allen, Madaline Goldmeyer and Nevaeh Parish won the 4x100 (53.51) while Allen, Goldmeyer, Wilson and Morgan Bennice-Carol Byles won the 4x200 (1:56.17) and Goldmeyer, Kendrick, Wilson and Deanna Ruiz won the 4x400 (4:34.02). Lillian Arnett won the discus (94-4).

Madison's Nathan Mullins won the high hurdles (18.85) while Wade Garza, Dominic Velasquez, Derrell Tillman and Ben Blanchard won the 4x100 (47.49). Garza and Mullins were joined by Wyatt Snyder and De'Lante Garrison won the 4x200 (1:40.0).

Blissfield's Hope Miller won the 400 (1:05.13), 800 (2:43.06) and 1,600 (5:43.77) and was joined by June Miller, Natalie Benitez and Hailey Sills won the 4x800 (11:26.79). Peyton Tennant won the shot put (29-11) and the high jump (4-8) while Layla Smith won the long jump (16-3).

Jackson Vandenbusche won the boys 800 (2:09.60) and was joined by Caleb Vore, Conner Deaton and Evan Vore to win the 4x400 (3:55.15). Vadenbusche, Evan Vore, Ian Waddell and William Marks won the 4x800 (9:05.58). Braedyn Tennant won the high jump (5-6).

Morenci, Erie Mason at Sand Creek

The Aggies boys and girls beat Morenci while Erie Mason boys and girls each went 2-0.

Sand Creek's Victoria Williams won the 400 (1:08.99) and Tanana Emmendorfter won the discus (100-8) and Elise Wilkinson won the long jump (13-07) while Morenci's Kiana Castillo, Leah Rorick, Emma Williams and Jillian Borton won the 4x200 (1:59.88).

The Aggies' Connor Pickens, Corbyn Pinsoneault, Trey Fluker and Josh Russell won the 4x100 (47.23) before Gavin Marks joined Pickens, Pinsoneault and Russell to win the 4x200 (1:39.83). Russell, Marks, Pinsoneault and Connor Johnson won the 4x400 (3:53.42). Harley Sharrock won the shot put (46-11).

Morenci's Van Ekins, Landon Wilkins, Will Riley and Beau Shaffer won the 4x800 (9:34.10).

Britton Deerfield, Jackson Prep at Summerfield

PETERSBURG — The Patriots boys and girls split their duals, with each falling to Summerfield and beating Jackson Prep.

Carson Johnson won the 200 (24.46) and joined Cayden Allhouse, Gabe Bishop and Maddox Dudek to win the 4x100 (46.8) while Kaiden Lidster, Austin Naugle, Trevor Karpinski and John Johnson won the 4x200 (1:45.86). Aubrey Appleman won the 800 (2:46.12).

Caden Eby (37-6.5) and Ava Jones (26-9) won the shot put while Jones (88-3) and Andrew Buckner (116-0) won the discus.

Addison, Columbia Central at Hanover Horton

The Panthers girls split while the boys went 0-2 in the Cascades Conference duals.

Molly Brown won the 100 (13.12), high hurdles (15.30) and intermediate hurdles (47.23) while Stephanie Hernandez won the 800 (2:46.36) and Caroline Yoder won the shot put (31-4.5) while Lucas Morse won the pole vault (11-0).

Lenawee Christian at Whiteford

The Cougars boys and girls both fell to the Bobcats in the TCC dual, 106-26 and 82-53 respectively.

Brenner Powers won the 100 (11.83) and the 200 (24.45) as did Gigi Masters (13.59 and 29.29). Masters also won the 400 (1:07.41) and was joined by Elizabeth Cameron, Ema Crowley and Sam Shane to win the 4x100 (56.27) while Izzy Brooks won the 800 (2:33.42) and 1,600 (6:00.10). Emerson Holsopple, Crowley, Cameron and Ila Stewart won the 4x200 (2:02.71).

Powers added a win in the long jump (17-7).

Boys Golf

Lenawee Christian 176, Jackson Christian 203

ADRIAN — LCS picked up a dual win against Jackson Christian at The Hills of Lenawee.

Connor Parisien led with a 42 while Jack Stamats was right behind him at 43 followed by Parker Bell at 45 and Max Stamats at 46.

WEDNESDAY

Lacrosse

Tecumseh 12, Chelsea 0

Luke Dunham had a monster game as he recorded seven goals in a shutout of the Bulldogs to put the Tecumseh boys at 6-2 overall and 5-0 in league play.

Wyatt Salenbien had two goals and two assists while Noah Yovanov had two goals and Cooper Barkway had a goal and an assist. Caleb Johnson added an assist.

Ashton Platt made eight saves in the shutout.

Dexter 9, Tecumseh 1

The Tecumseh girls win streak ended at three as it fell in SEC White play.

Jazzy Reau scored Tecumseh's lone goal while Jili Koeppe made 11 saves.

Girls Soccer

Tecumseh 4, Jackson 1

TECUMSEH — Tecumseh picked up an SEC White victory as it beat the Vikings at home.

Kylie Trevino had a strong night with two goals and an assist while Brook Stark and Shaylinn Drouillard had a goal and an assist each.

Makayla Schlorft made five saves in net.

Adrian 1, Pinckney 1

ADRIAN — The Maples played some tough defense as they tied with the Pirates in SEC White play.

Tatum Borton scored Adrian's goal off an assist from Sienna Gauna while Lily Hassan made five saves.

Track and Field

Onsted at Ida

The Wildcats boys defeated the Bluestreaks, 86-51, while the girls fell 71-56.

Mitchell Hiatt won the 800 (2:06.97), (4:59.97) and 3,200 (10:36.50) while Aidan Paquin won the 100 (11.42) and Griffin Amthor won the 200 (23.40). Amthor and Paquin were joined by Cannon Ruttkofsky and Joey Denkins to win the 4x100 (46.87) before Connor Kish joined Paquin, Ruffkofsky and Paquin to win the 4x200 (1:33.71).

Ruttkofsky was joined by Logan Irwin, Mason Chesser and Hunter VanZandt to win the 4x400 (3:45.62) while Ethan Grulke, Nicklas Holmes, James Bayes and VanZandt won the 4x800 (9:25.86). Chesser won the high jump (6-0) while Ruttkofsky won the long jump (20-0.5).

For the girls, Emmry Ross won the 400 (57.74), 800 (2:15.23) and 1,600 (5:03.61) while Hadley Ross won the 100 (13.70) and Alison England won the 3,200 (13:41.26).

Hadley Ross was joined by Izzy Cunningham, Alaina Taeff and Emme VanZandt won the 4x100 (56.88) and the 4x200 (2:00.46) while Gretchen Gautz won the pole vault (7-0).

Clinton, Hudson at Dundee

In tightly contested boys LCAA tri-meet, Clinton defeated Dundee (71-66) while Hudson beat the Redwolves (70.5-66.5) and the host Vikings defeated the Tigers (82-55).

On the girls side, Clinton defeated Hudson while Dundee beat both the Redwolves and Tigers.

Brenden Benschoter won the 200 (24.91) and long jump (19-6) for the Clinton boys while Eric Ramsey won the 400 (55.67) and Reed Patrick won the intermediate hurdles (48.23). Angel Rubio, Luis Piatt and Elijah Turner joined Ramsey to win the 4x400 (3:51.90) while Mason Brodie won the shot put (49-7) and discus (157-10) while Turner won the high jump (5-10).

Isaac St. John won the 800 (2:13.83) for the Hudson boys and was joined by Alex Czeiszperger, Gage Mannarino and Angelo Moreno to win the 4x800 (9:04.50). Czeiszperger won the pole vault (10-0).

The Clinton girls got wins from Allison Bowles in the 1,600 (5:24.87) and 3,200 (11:59.86) while Samantha Coots won the 800 (2:34.50). Cylee Elkins, Coots, Morgan Hill and Bella Bannon won the 4x400 (4:38.17) after Elkins, Coots, Bowles and Sarah King won the 4x800 (10:53.67). Kaylie Livingston won the discus (92-3) while Hill won the high jump (4-10).

Elci Rogers won the intermediate hurdles (57.56) for Hudson while Ellie Loar won the shot put (30-8) and Annabelle Czeiszperger won the pole vault (7-6).

THURSDAY

Girls Soccer

Clinton 3, Blissfield 0

CLINTON — The Redwolves continued to dominate LCAA play as they shutout Blissfield.

Aubrey Lauer scored twice while Anna Schaffner getting both assists before Kaylee Reiser assisted Allison Bowles for a goal in the second half.

Arianna Drake made 20 saves for the Royals to keep them in the game.

Ida 1, Onsted 0

IDA — The Wildcats fell in LCAA play after a strong defensive effort.

Onsted is 2-2 and 1-2 in the LCAA.

Quincy 3, Lenawee Christian 1

ADRIAN — The Cougars fell to 1-2 on the season as they lost to Quincy.

Baseball

Hudson 14, Lenawee Christian 8

ADRIAN — Bradley Bertram had three hits and four RBIs to lead the Tigers to the non-conference win.

Bertram went 3-for-6 with four RBIs and two runs and stole a base to lead Hudson's 12 hits on the day. Liam Timm was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs while Gavin Yatzek and Lucius Arnett each hit doubles and Liam Taylor had two hits.

KJ Walker got the win going 4.2 shutout innings, allowing no hits and striking out four.

Zyan Breznik had two hits with a double, RBI and two runs for LCS while Tyler Salenbien and Colton Clymer hit doubles as well. Breznik took the loss while Blake Drogowksi went four innings and gave up three runs (one earned), on five hits and two strikeouts.

Ida 4, Clinton 1

CLINTON — The Redwolves dropped Game 2 of their weekly LCAA series against the Bluestreaks after taking Game 1.

Clinton was held to two hits while Quinn Walden took the loss, going five innints and giving up two runs, on five hits and striking out four.

Boys Golf

Adrian at Tecumseh

The SEC White rivals tied at Tecumseh Golf Club with Adrian getting the advantage with the fifth golfer.

The two teams tied, 171-171 with Carson Ritz shooting a 40, Cayden Staib shooting a 42, Harrison Boyd at 43 and Alex Brown at 46. Cooper Howard was the fifth golfer who shot a 48, beating his Tecumseh counterpart by two shots.

No scores were available for Tecumseh.

Summerfield TCC Jamboree

PETERSBURG — The Cougars took the first TCC jamboree of the season at Deme Acres with a score of 161.

Britton Deerfield was second at 178 followed by Summerfield (180), Sand Creek (198), Whiteford (199) and Erie Mason (205).

Connor Parisien shot a 37 to lead LCS while Parker Bell carded a 40, Max Stamats shot a 41 and Nate Jeffords shot a 43.

BD's Logan Shiels was the medalist at 34 while Colin Johnson shot a 45 and Sand Creek's Jonathan Fisher shot a 42.

Softball

Ida at Sand Creek (DH)

The Aggies dropped Game 12-3, before taking Game 2, 9-3.

Claire Pickens had three hits in the win and scored two runs while Maddie Osburn had two hits, two runs and two RBIs.

Erie Mason at Britton Deerfield (DH)

The Patriots dropped a pair of TCC games, falling to the Eagles 22-4 and 16-1.

Victoria Fraley had two hits with a double in Game 1 while Kurina Dotson hit a triple in Game 2.

Temperance Bedford 15, Adrian 0, 3 Inn.

TEMPERANCE — The Maples took on a tough Kicking Mules team and lost in three innings.

Hailey Vetitoe had a hit and a steal while Keira Iott got a hit as well.

Girls Tennis

Grosse Ile 8, Adrian 0

GROSSE ILE — The Maples took to the road and faced a tough Grosse Ile squad, falling in an 8-0 shutout.

FRIDAY

Baseball

Madison 12, Britton Deerfield 3

BRITTON — The Trojans picked up a win against an old TCC rival with a combined no-hitter.

Cam Grof, Nolan Matthews and Brian Dopp were on the mound with Grof striking out seven in five innings for the win. Matthews and Dopp each had three strikeouts in their innings of work.

Bryson Ballantyne went 3-for-3 with a home run and a double while Dopp doubled, Brooks Horwath doubled with two RBIs and Jacob Byrd drove in three.

Logan Shiels took the loss, going three innings and giving up five runs (two earned), on four hits and striking out five.

Addison at Tekonsha (DH)

The Panthers picked up a pair of wins in a road non-conference doubleheader, 14-3 and 9-4.

Jaxen Sword went 3-for-3 with a double, four runs and an RBI in Game 1 while Drew Spink was 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs and Alisha Gahn was 2-for-3 with a run. Logan Jewell drove in two with a double as well while Spink got the win going four innings and giving up an unearned run on three hits and striking out four.

Josh Ray, Gavin Gibson and Terrill Dexter all had two hits in Game 2 while Jacob Wright got the win going four innings and giving up an unearned run, on three hits and four strikeouts.

Blissfield at Columbia Central (DH)

BROOKLYN — The Royals gave the Golden Eagles their first loss of the season in Game 1, 8-7, before falling 15-3 in Game 2.

Jack Deatrick went 2-for-3 with a home run, double, three RBIs and a run while Ethan Stines went 2-for-4, Tyler Ganun went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs and Dove Eitzen went 2-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run. Jon Cheney got the win as he went 5.1 innings and gave up six runs (three earned), on four hits while striking out four.

Stines had two more hits in Game 2 while Eitzen took the loss.

Quincy at Hudson (DH)

The Tigers split a doubleheader as they won Game 1, 2-0, before falling 7-1 in Game 2.

Liam Taylor tossed a complete game shutout, allowing three hits and striking out three and had two hits. He took the loss in Game 2 while Beckett McCaskey had two hits.

Gorham Fayette (Ohio) 6, Morenci 2

FAYETTE, Ohio — Talan Kruse hit a double and drove in a run in the loss.

Blake Moran took the loss as he went 4.1 innings and gave up five runs (four earned) on six hits and striking out six.

Softball

Madison at Britton Deerfield (DH)

The Trojans swept their former TCC foe, 20-3 and 18-1.

Camylie Sower got the win in Game 1, giving up three runs (two earned), on four hits and a walk while striking out three. Micajah Briggs threw three hitless innings in Game 2, giving up an unearned run with four walks and four strikeouts.

Sower hit a home run with two RBIs in Game 1, Briggs was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and Mya Solis was 2-for-2 with an RBI while Jazlyn Zaszczurynski hit a triple with three RBIs. Zaszczurynski was 3-for-3 in Game 2 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs.

Arieana Risek, Adriana Rafalko, Kurina Dotson and Elayna Thornton played strong defense for the Patriots.

Addison at Tekonsha (DH)

The Panthers got a sweep of Tekonsha, winning 16-0 and 19-6.

Laci Patterson drove in six runs with a double and a triple and scored two runs. Olivia Speelman got the win, allowing one hit in four shutout innings while striking out nine.

Speelman went 3-for-3 with a double and a triple, two RBIs and four runs scored while Kalyn Trecy went 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and three runs. Keira Wheaton gave up six runs (three earned), on two hits in 3.2 innings while striking out six.

Hanover Horton at Clinton (DH)

The Redwolves split a doubleheader by taking Game 1, 9-3, before falling in Game 2, 6-5.

Breanna Browman went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double while Kendall Phillip went 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs, Lila Szczesniak went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs and Raven Aldridge went 2-for-2 with a double. Taryn Hernandez was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs while getting the win going five innings and giving up two unearned runs, on four hits and a strikeout.

Phillip added three hits with a home run, double, two RBIs and two runs in Game 2 while Kyleigh Ramos hit a triple and drove in two runs and Aldridge added two more hits. Phillip went six innings and gave up three runs, on seven hits and struck out six while Hernandez took the loss.

Quincy at Hudson (DH)

The Tigers split a doubleheader in a pair of slugfests, losing Game 1, 18-11, before winning Game 2, 21-11.

Amber Williams went 4-for-4 with a home run, double, six RBIs and three runs in the win while Sam Anderson went 3-for-3 with two doubles, four RBIs and three runs and Ryen Rogers hit a double with three RBIs. Jozlyn Weber had two hits and two RBIs. Keegan Shaffer got the win in Game 2, but took the loss in Game 1.

Shaffer hit a 2-run home run in the Game 1 loss while Anderson hit a triple and Williams had two hits with a double. Dinah Horwath went 3-for-5 with two doubles while Malia Grayer had two hits with two RBIs while Brooke Clark hit a double.

Tecumseh at Ypsilanti Lincoln (DH)

Tecumseh dropped a pair to the Railsplitters, 13-2 and 12-11.

Lucy Whelan hit a double in Game 1 while Emma Eldred took the loss.

Eldred went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs in Game 2 while Natalie Petty went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Jessie Wilkinson went 2-for-4 with a double. Wendy Ketola went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs, Lauren Kilbarger went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Emma Leitner hit a double and took the loss.

Boys Lacrosse

Tecumseh 13, Dexter 4

DEXTER — Tecumseh got its biggest win of the season as it topped the Dreadnaughts in an SEC White road showdown.

Tecumseh is 7-2 on the season and 6-0 in league play.

Tom Reynolds Invite

MARSHALL — Clinton took 12th at Marshall's Tom Reynolds Invite with a team score of 366.

Jacob Rothman shot an 86 while Brandon Ruhl shot a 91, Robert McDonald shot a 94 and Nate Arntz shot a 95.

Track and Field

Clinton Throwers Invite

The Redwolves hosted a throwers only meet.

Clinton's Mason Brodie won both the shot put (49-1) and the discus (152-3) and joined Landon Lakatos, Brandon Johnson and Tyrus Hayes to win the 4x100 (52.2).

Britton Deerfield's Ava Jones won the shot put (29-8) and discus (92-6) while Clinton's Kaylie Livingston, Madison Moore, Annabelle Howard and Isabella Szubielak won the 4x100 (1:05.4).

Ralph Rice Invite

PARMA — The Adrian boys and girls took part in Parma Western's Ralph Rice Invite.

Jasmine Griffin took second in the 400 (1:03.53) for the girls while Aaron Miller took second in the pole vault (11-9) for the boys.

Boys Golf

Madison Ryder Cup

ADRIAN — The Trojans hosted their annual Ryder Cup at Wolf Creek Golf Club which featured best ball in holes 1-6, alternate shots in holes 7-12 and scramble for holes 13-18.

Livonia Franklin won with a score of 228, a shot ahead of Temperance Bedford while Tecumseh was the top local team in third (233). Blissfield was fourth (247) followed by Onsted (255), Hudson (277), Britton Deerfield (292), Madison (302) and Sand Creek (340).

Team of Blake LaJiness and Grant Simpson of Tecumseh took third (74) while Lenawee Christian's Connor Parisien and Parker Bell took fifth (76).

Baseball

Sand Creek Invite

The Aggies improved to 11-0 with a 5-4 win against Concord and a 4-3 win against Leslie.

Sand Creek's win against Concord was on a Jacob Kaufman walk-off single in the ninth. Carson Preston was 3-for-5 with two runs while Jacob Schamberger was 2-for-4 and went 5.2 innings and gave up no runs, four hits and struck out two.

It was another dramatic win against Leslie with Andon Sutherland hitting a walk-off single in the seventh. Ivan Wilkinson hit a double and drove in a run while Kaufman had two hits. Reid Hulett gave up three runs, on five hits and struck out seven.

Adrian at Temperance Bedford (DH)

TEMPERANCE — The Maples won a pair of SEC crossover games as they beat the Kicking Mules 9-2 and 10-5.

Julius Robichaud got the win going a complete game and giving one earned run on seven hits and striking out five. Gary Kemerer got the win in Game 2, tossing four innings in relief of Solomon Hiatt and gave up no runs and one hit.

Hiatt and Sean Parker each had two with a double and combined to drive in six runs in Game 1. Hiatt hit another double in Game 2 while Tyler Bruggeman and Maverick Slavin had two hits each.

Grass Lake at Clinton (DH)

The Redwolves won a pair against Grass Lake, 14-13 and 17-9.

Andy Fair walked it off in Game 1 and had three hits with two RBIs while Nik Shadley went 4-for-5 with three RBIs on two doubles. Cade Brighton went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs while Jaden Stelzer had three hits, Cole Breitenwischer had two hits and so did Louie Della-Badia. Gavin Shores tossed 2.2 shutout innings.

In Game 2, Stelzer was 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and three runs while Shores was 4-for-4 with five runs and a double and Shadley hit another double. Fair had two hits with two RBIs and Levi Wilhelm had two hits. Shadley tossed 1.2 shutout innings.

Onsted Invite

The Wildcats fell to Hanover Horton, 4-1, before beating Jonesville, 8-2.

Hill went 4-for-4 with a double in the win while Luke Manders drove in four and had a double. Gabe Amsdill got the win as he gave up two runs, on five hits and struck out seven.

JT Hill hit a double while Quinn Hiram took the loss.

Jackson Northwest at Tecumseh (DH)

Tecumseh split with the Mounties, winning Game 1 6-3 before falling in Game 2, 5-4.

Palmer Ziemer got the win with two shutout innings, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out three. Logan Smith gave up three runs (none earned) on three hits and a walk while striking out seven in five innings. Ryan Knight took the loss in Game 2.

Jeremy Bennett went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs while Connor Bullinger went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs in Game 1. In Game 2, Max Bledsoe was 2-for-3 while Tyler Clement was 3-for-3 with two RBIs.

Monroe SMCC 19, Lenawee Christian 2

ADRIAN — The Cougars dropped a non-conference game to the Falcons.

Zyan Breznik took the loss on the mound.

Softball

Onsted Invite

Sand Creek beat Reading 11-10, but fell to Jonesville 12-6 in Game 2 at Onsted while the host Wildcats lost to Jonesville, 14-4, but beat Reading, 9-8.

For Onsted, Hannah Hill went 4-for-5 while Sydney Keefe was 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI in the win. Alyssa Sims add two hits while M Hunt got the win the circle, striking out nine. Keefe hit another double while Sims added two more hits in the loss while Ashlynn Wilson took the loss.

Claire Pickens went 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI for Sand Creek in its win while Maddie Osburn went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Scout Robinson went 2-for-3. Emma Pifer hit a solo home run while Lily Hawkins hit a double. Hawkins got the win in the circle.

In the loss, Makenna Wheeler had two hits while Hawkins hit another double. Wheeler took the loss in the circle.

Blissfield Invite

The Royals went 1-2 at their home meet, falling to Milan, 3-1, and Parma Western, 6-4, before beating Adrian, 17-1.

Savannah Stalker tossed three no-hit innings against the Maples with five strikeouts.

Bella Treloar struck out nine against Milan while Nicole Brewer, Maycie Valasek and Alexis O'Brien all had two hits against Parma Western.

The Maples lost 19-0 to Milan and 16-0 to Parma Western.

Track and Field

Blissfield Invite

The Royals girls won their home meet while the boys took second.

Layla Smith won the 100 (14.35), 200 (29.89) and long jump (15-8) while Hailey Sills won the 1,600 (5:56.16) and 3,200 (12:50.39) and Peyton Tennant won the shot put (30-9.5) and high jump (4-10). Reilan Snyder won the 400 (1:10.63). Madeline Forche, Michaiah Franklin and Reanne Smith joined Smith to win the 4x100 (56.45) while Reanne Smith, Sayler, Forche and Tennant won the 4x200 (2:01.49) and Sills, Sayler, Forche and Kina Eby won the 4x800 (12:46.95).

Blissfield's William Marks won the 800 (2:15.21) and 1,600 (4:51.44) while Jackson Vandenbusche won the 400 (53.77) and Ian Waddell won the 3,200 (11:08.50). Evan Vore, Ashton Bartelt, Marks and Vandenbusche won the 4x400 (3:51.08) while Vore, Waddell, Marks and Vandenbusche won the 4x800 (9:07.60).

Britton Deerfield's Aubrey Appleman won the 800 (2:45.47) and Ava Jones won the discus (82-6.5). Carson Johnson won the boys 200 (25.42) while Jerimiah Bishop, Gabe Bishop and Cayden Allhouse joined Johnson to win the 4x100 (47.83) before John Johnson joined Bishop, Allhouse and Carson Johnson to win the 4x200 (1:42.82).

Monroe Jefferson Invite

The Onsted boys took second at the Jefferson Invite while the girls took seventh and both Clinton teams took ninth.

Onsted's Emmry Ross won the 400 (57.33), 800 (2:15.81) and 1,600 (5:06.88) while Mason Chesser won the high jump (6-2).

Balawajder Classic Coed Relays

MILFORD — Tecumseh's Declan Cornish had the top high jump mark at the Balawajder Classic Coed Relays.

The sophomore posted a height of 6-0.

Girls Soccer

Clinton 4, Lenawee Christian 0

ADRIAN — The Redwolves picked up the non-conference win against county rival LCS, 4-0.

Aubrey Lauer scored twice, as did Anna Schaffner, who added two assists.

Jackson Christian Invite

Onsted won the Jackson Christian Invite by going 2-0 on the day.

The Wildcats beat Granger Christian (Ind.) 1-0 in the opener before beating Hanover Horton in the final, 4-2.
