High school soccer report: District titles, playoff spots secured on final night (for most)

Perfect seasons, district titles and playoff spots were claimed on the last night of the high school soccer regular season in the Austin area for schools not in District 26-6A. That district still has two games left, which will be completed next week when schools return from spring break. Here's the weekend soccer report:

Boys

Georgetown 2, Bastrop 0: Martin Valdes and LaCondre Hall scored off passes from Benni Ponce and JJ Carrillo Jr. as the Eagles closed out the regular season with a win. Juanjose Serrano provided the shutout.

Northeast 3, Navarro 0: Roger Amador, Jose Aza Juarez and Augustine Bitomwa had goals for the Raiders as they finished the regular season with a victory. Jeff Lopez and Cristhiam Espinoza recorded assists, while Gerson Dominguez and Juan Vargas combined for the shutout. Northeast plays Georgetown in the first round of the playoffs March 26.

Westlake 4, Johnson 0: William Fagerberg, Christian Mezas, Simon Katz and Dylan Holm all scored for the Chaps, who are currently second in District 26-6A. Mack Elliott and Tobin Nguyen teamed up for the shutout, while Fagerberg, Mezas and Izel Gonzalez all had assists.

Stony Point 2, Manor 2: Colton Lee and Antonio Diaz scored for the Tigers to secure fourth place and a playoff spot out of District 25-6A.

Vandegrift 3, Westwood 0: The Vipers finished out their District 25-6A championship with a win thanks to goals from Emmy Aranda, Rahul Gupta and Grant Teodecki and Charlie Reed’s shutout.

Glenn 1, Liberty Hill 0: Keller Marchant’s clean sheet and John Gomez’s goal led the Grizzlies as they completed the regular season undefeated at 23-0-1.

Rouse 2, Cedar Park 1: Elyan Bahena and Nathan Shaw tallied goals for the Raiders as they finished second in District 25-5A.

McCallum 6, Eastside 1: Austin Gourrier, Speight Twohey and Isai Villarreal-Pacheco all had a goal and assist and Jay Schlett, Mathis Goertz and Luka Alvarez-Scarborough all scored to lead the Knights to a win in the final game of District 24-5A play.

Vista Ridge 5, Round Rock 2: Kyriakos C. Keah tallied a goal and assist, J Mossholder, Omar Erwa, Yaseen Salman and Will Payton all scored and Arthur Santos had two assists as the Rangers finished District 25-6A play with a win. Ace Stephens also provided an assist for Vista Ridge, which finished second in the district.

Bowie 2, Lake Travis 0: Griffin Crawley and Rowen Wells scored goals and Blaze Hatchett provided the clean sheet as the Bulldogs clinched the District 26-6A title and remained undefeated on the season.

Hendrickson 3, Elgin 0: The Hawks closed out their season with a win behind goals from Blake Tobias, Jaxson White and Mateo Palma. Moises Aguirre and Palma also had assists. Mitch Fairsther recorded the clean sheet.

Anderson 1, Dripping Springs 1: Luke Marcum scored for the Trojans and Trent Trotter found the net for the Tigers in a District 26-6A draw.

Connally 2, East View 2: Aldo Treto and Damian Cantu scored for the Patriots and Noe Molina and Lawrence Doe found the net for the Cougars in the final game of District 23-5A play. Joaquin Lubreras provided the assist on Cantu’s goal. East View will host McCallum and Connally will face Crockett in the first round of the playoffs March 26.

LASA 3, Travis 1: The Raptors completed a second straight 14-0 campaign in District 24-5A. Owen Rooff tallied two goals and an assist and Yohannes Heineman had a goal and assist to lead LASA. Isaac Held also provided an assist. The Raptors will play Pflugerville in the first round of the playoffs.

Girls

Westlake 4, Johnson 0: Kate Grannis’ brace, goals from Mia Berry and Gabby Jatinen and Sophia Martin’s shutout led the Chaps to a big victory for their playoff hopes. Ade Nelson, Zoe Findlay, Grace Condon and Claire Eckman all had assists.

Bowie 2, Lake Travis 1: Valeria Portilla and Ava Grosso scored for the Bulldogs as they recorded a crucial District 26-6A win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Westwood 4, Vandegrift 0: Tayla Score finished with a brace, Mia Wiele had a goal and assist and Kate Wyrick scored to lead the Warriors, who finished second in District 25-6A. Sam Walker recorded her ninth shutout in goal.

Anderson 3, Dripping Springs 0: Stella Tatum had a goal and assist and both Claire Navarro and Haley Zator scored as the Trojans stayed in the District 26-6A title race. Gracie Huff also had an assist, while Charlie McCreery provided the shutout in goal. Anderson coach Emily Horvath lauded the play of Zator and Jessica Greenway on defense.

Leander 8, Lockhart 1: Paige Davis and Kenzie Borie both tallied two goals and an assist, Kylie Jamar had two assists and Alyse Kavanaugh, Kylie Bernal, Cori Harper and Taya Sturdevant all scored as the Lions ended the regular season as District 25-5A champions. Cori Harper, Kate Horvath and Ka’lea Reynaud all recorded assists.

Georgetown 4, Bastrop 0: Emie Benson, Libby Benson and Amy Fangman all had a goal and assist and Tori Phillips scored for the Eagles, who secured the District 23-5A title. Anna Bruchmiller also provided an assist.
