BOYS LACROSSE

Division II

Cumberland 8, Coventry 4

Sean Taylor led the visiting Clippers with 4 goals, Gavyn Freiberger added 3 goals and 1 assist and Mason Cournoyer added a goal in Cumberland's Division II victory. For the Oakers, Zane Parenteau had a pair of goals in the loss. Both goalies — Colby Enos for Cumberland and Neil Benjamin for Coventry — had 9 saves apiece.

Division IV

Lincoln 6, Scituate 5

Nathan Turcotte and Jackson Danforth each scored a pair of goals and Derek Wood had a goal and two assists as the Lions edged the Spartans. Grant Bailey had two goals and two assists for Scituate, which was tied with Lincoln, 3-3, at halftime.

Rogers 8, North Smithfield 4

Dylan Walker connected for four goals and set up two others, Jack Mathews contributed three goals and Chase Arment had a goal and three assists as the Vikings, now 8-0, broke open a close game in the second half. The game was tied, 3-3, at the break.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Division III

Bay View 15, Providence Country Day 1

On a day when junior goaltender Kate Shields surpassed the 400th save of her high school career, teammates Elizabeth Healey and Annabelle Tracey celebrated by scoring five goals apiece as Bay View was dominating in its victory over PCD.

Division IV

North Smithfield 17, Scituate 5

The lady Northmen got six goals each from Kailey Salinaro and Ava ONeill, while Alina Bienkiewicz added 3 in this Division IV battle. The Spartans got a pair of goals each from Emily Vernon and Julia Taylor. North Smithfield goalie Samantha Austin had 6 saves in the win.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Division I

North Kingstown 3, Hendricken 0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-18)

Quinlan Fahy recorded 14 kills and 4 blocks, Cody Tow chipped in with 9 kills and Ryan Murphy, who made his return to the lineup after injury, had 7 kills, an ace and 4 digs as the Skippers blanked the Hawks. Hendricken's Devin Lynch had a career-high 20 kills in the loss.

Chariho 3, Classical 2 (26-28, 14-25, 27-25, 25-23, 15-10)

Matt Tiernan was unstoppable with 41 kills, Kody Poplaski was key with 51 assists and James Azzinaro chipped in with 20 digs as the Chargers rallied from a 2-0 deficit to post the victory. James Men had 48 assists and 3 aces and Teddy Wallace had 18 kills for the Purple.

La Salle 3, East Greenwich 1 (25-27, 25-22, 25-23, 25-23)

La Salle's Jack Johnson had 18 kills, 12 digs and 2 aces, Nick Lisi added 7 kills, 5 aces, 16 digs and 3 blocks. For EG, Michael Dobrzanski had 15 kills, 5 digs, 2 blocks.

Division III

Burrillville 3, North Providence 0 (27-25, 25-17, 25-16)

Solid efforts by Frank Bergin (9 digs, 3 kills, 1 ace) and Cole Laprade (6 aces, 7 assists, 3 digs) paved the way for the Broncos 3-0 win over the Cougars. For North Providence, Ivan Ramos had 4 aces, 7 attempts and 3 kills and Cam Brackett had 3 kills, 2 aces, 8 attempts and a block in the loss.

SOFTBALL

Division III

Mount St. Charles 15, Classical 4

The first-place Mounties capitalized on the big blow off the bat of Olivia Young and easily got by Classical to remain undefeated (11-0) on the season. Young belted a grand slam, drove in 4, walked twice and scored 3 times. Also contributing to the win were Olivia Dias and Chandra Morelli who combined for 4 hits, 5 RBI and 3 runs scored. Vivian Hoffman had a solid outing for the Purple in the loss, going 3-for-4, with two singles, a triple, scored a run and stole 2 bases.
