High school golf roundup: Flagler Palm Coast girls, Carlisi rank 2nd in District 2-3A
Flagler Palm Coast earned second place at the girls District 2-3A Tournament Tuesday at Hawkstone Country Club in Gainesville.
Led by individual runner-up Carmella Carlisi, who shot a 2-over-par 74, the Bulldogs recorded a 416. Buchholz (340) ran away with the team title.
Madison Heck and Sydney Adams joined Carlisi in the top 10. Heck tied for seventh with a 102, and Adams shot a 104 to grab 10th.
Flagler Palm Coast advances to the Region 1-3A Tournament next Monday at Hawkstone. The top three finishing teams and top three individuals off non-qualifying squads in district tournaments punch regional tickets.
The Bulldog boys also competed in their District 2-3A Tournament Tuesday, taking fourth place. Wynter Dodson fired an 81, good for 9th and the top Flagler Palm Coast score.
Although the Bulldogs will not move on to regionals as a team, Dodson and Elijah Thero will after placing among the top three of golfers not on qualifying teams. Thero’s 86 slotted him 14th overall.
The Region 1-3A boys meet will occur Tuesday at St. Johns Golf Course.

Matanzas took fourth place at the boys District 4-2A Tournament Tuesday at Palatka Golf Club. The Pirates tallied a 352.
Beachside won the championship with a 291.
Matanzas’ top placer was Trevor Challice. After shooting a 76 and tying for fifth, Challice will head to the regional tournament as an individual Tuesday at Perdido Bay Golf Club.
