High school football Week 10 schedule for Acadiana teams
Some district titles have been decided — see Acadiana's dramatic win over District 3-5A rival Carencro this past Friday night.
Other races have gone the distance and will be settled in the high school football regular season finale this week. And that crop of games containing area squads is headlined by the showdown of crosstown juggernaut rivals for the District 4-4A championship.
St. Thomas More (9-0, 4-0) travels to face Lafayette Christian (8-1, 4-0) Friday at Knight Stadium, pitting one of the best offenses in the state against arguably the best overall offensive player in Louisiana in LCA quarterback Ju'Juan Johnson.
Elsewhere, Abbeville (7-2, 3-0) hosts Kaplan (7-2, 3-0) with the District 5-3A title on the line. Iota (6-3, 4-1) travels to play Church Point (6-3, 5-0) with the winner taking the District 4-3A crown.
The wildest race is in District 8-2A where each Catholic-New Iberia (7-2, 3-1), Ascension Episcopal (6-3, 3-1) and Loreauville (6-3, 3-1) all have round-robined each other in district play and none can afford a lose in the finale.
