Lawton 48, Saugatuck 46

The Trailblazers lost a tough one on the road Friday falling to Lawton 46-48.

Trailing 29-23 at the half and 35-42 after three, Saugatuck continued to battle holding Lawton to just one field goal in the 4th however Lawton converted on seven of 11 free throws the Saugatuck only making two.

“Free throws killed us tonight, eight for 25 is not going to win you a lot of games, but more disappointing was that we continue to struggle in the passing game. We simply give away far too many possessions," said Saugatuck coach Kevin Tringali. "More emphasis on this very important fundamental aspect you could argue is the difference between being 4-1 at the break. The good news is it’s not because of lack of effort, they understand our weaknesses, we will embrace the process and try to get better.”

McKenzie Pearson led all scorers with a season-high 18 points, Kennedy Gustafson scored 14.
