High school baseball: Vote for the Varsity 845 player of the week (April 8-14)
Online voting for the Varsity 845 baseball player of the week for April 8-14 is now open. Go to RecordOnline.com/sports and vote as often as you like until 10 p.m. on Saturday (no computer bot voting, please).
Nominations are pulled from reports to Varsity 845 and other sources. Players from Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties, plus Delaware Valley (Pa.) are eligible. One player per school is permitted during each week.
The winner will be announced via X / Twitter @Varsity845. Previous winners can become eligible again once the postseason has begun. The first two winners were Kyle McDermott of Monroe-Woodbury and Mason Gove of Burke Catholic.

Rudy Cherry, Middletown
He struck out 11 batters over six innings but ultimately Monroe-Woodbury prevailed 2-0 on Wednesday.
Kyle Degroat, Wallkill
He drove in four runs as the Panthers topped Saugerties 13-5 on Wednesday.
Nick DeRosa, Seward
He struck out 10 batters as the Spartans beat Fallsburg 15-2 on Tuesday.
Bradley Gatto, Highland
A triple and three-run homer helped the Huskies rout Ellenville 23-2 in a shortened game on Tuesday.
James Musco, Chester
A grand slam in a cycle led Musco driving in eight runs in the Hambletonians’ 27-3 shortened win over Port Jervis on Monday.
Alex C. Ramos, Goshen
He tossed a no-hitter and struck out 11 as the Gladiators blanked Monticello 10-0 in a shortened game on Tuesday.
