How high did Memphis basketball targets Billy Richmond III, Curtis Givens rise in ESPN rankings?

Memphis natives Billy Richmond III and Curtis Givens cracked the top 40 in ESPN's top-100 prospect rankings released Wednesday.

Both Richmond III and Givens, who are ranked No. 20 and No. 39 respectively, are four-star prospects in the 2024 class, according to 247Sports. Both are targets of Memphis basketball.

Richmond III — the athletic two-way wing — has scouts excited about his ability in transition. His many highlights include Richmond III taking the ball coast-to-coast and finishing with authority.

In addition to an offer from Memphis , Richmond III boasts interest from Kentucky, California, Connecticut, Kansas and Kansas State, according to 247Sports. Richmond III, who plays in Camden, New Jersey, after starting his career at East High, will visit three additional schools — Miami, Louisville and Alabama.

Givens, who plays at the acclaimed Monteverde Academy after playing at Memphis University School, is one of the nation's top guards. As of May, Givens was ranked the No. 12 point guard in the nation, according to Sports Illustrated, and has offers from Georgia Tech, Connecticut, Indiana, LSU and Memphis, according to 247Sports.

Givens could be the next intriguing prospect from Monteverde Academy after the likes of Cade Cunningham, Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett.

As the Nike EYBL tournament looks ahead, both prospects look for a clearer path to their recruiting journey at the Peach Jam Tournament on July 3-9 as Richmond III and Givens represent NJ Scholars and Mokan Elite respectively.
