High Desert Sports Roundup: Casillas scores game-winner to lift Oak Hills in playoff opener
Aliyah Casillas came up in a big way Thursday night for the Oak Hills girls soccer team.
The freshman scored the game-winning goal in double overtime to lift the Bulldogs to a 2-1 victory over Patriot in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 playoffs.
The teams were tied at one goal each when Casillas struck, scoring on an assist from Takoah Castillo for the victory.
Castillo, a senior who will continue her soccer career at Sonoma State University, also assisted on a goal in the first half when Mollie Zielke put the Bulldogs on the board.
The score was tied 1-1 at halftime.
In goal for Oak Hills, Kaylin Huete-Ramirez, also a freshman, recorded four saves.

The Bulldogs (15-8-3) return home for the second round Saturday night against Montclair, which beat Redlands East Valley 3-2.
Montclair is the No. 1 seed in the division after going 18-1-2 on the season. The Cavaliers have outscored opponents 138-20 this season and are ranked 94th best in the state, according to MaxPreps.com.
Oak Hills is ranked 231st in the state, and has outscored opponents 69-29 on the season.

At Victorville, the Jaguars are moving on to the second round of the CIF-SS Division 4 playoffs after pulling off a victory in penalty kicks.
University Prep (12-2-3) is on the road Saturday night against La Canada, which beat Hillcrest 5-0.
Adelanto 1, Carter 0
At Adelanto, Giselle Perez scored in the second half on Thursday and the Saints advanced to the second round of the CIF-SS Division 5 playoffs.
Adelanto (5-11-2) is on the road Saturday night against Chino, which beat Leuzinger 4-1.
Riverside Prep 3, Lennox Academy 1
At Oro Grande, Skye Hernandez scored a goal and assisted on another Thursday night to help lift the Silver Knights to the second round of the CIF-SS Division 5 playoffs.
Shylah Gilchrist and Leah Ortega Flores also scored goals, and Jasmine Reyes had an assist. Goalkeeper Jinelle Biggers recorded nine saves.
Riverside Prep (13-3-2) is home against Grand Terrace, which beat Sultana 2-1.
Excelsior 2, Cal Military 1
At Victorville, the Eagles are moving on to the second round of the CIF-SS Division 7 playoffs with a victory at home Thursday afternoon.
Excelsior (12-3) is on the road against Oxford Academy, which beat Environmental Charter 2-1.

At Oak Hills, the Bulldogs pulled off a big victory at home Thursday night and advanced to the second round of the CIF-SS Division 3AA playoffs.
Oak Hills (20-8) is on the road Saturday night against La Habra, which beat Bell Gardens 80-46.
Adelanto 54, AB Miller 36
At Adelanto, the Saints notched the program’s first postseason victory and are moving on to the second round of the CIF-SS Division 4A playoffs.
Adelanto (16-9) is on the road Saturday night against Sacred Heart, which beat Mesrobian 62-21.
Silver Valley 38, Hamilton 29
At Yermo, the Trojans advanced to the second round of the CIF-SS Division 5A playoffs with a 10-point victory on Thursday night.
Silver Valley (7-13) is on the road Saturday against Samueli Academy, which had a bye in the first round.
