Here's why UGA women's basketball fans should be excited about 2023-24 SEC home opener
Georgia women's basketball's 2023-24 Southeastern Conference slate has been released, with top-notch matchups at Stegeman Coliseum included.
The Lady Bulldogs will start conference action against their former coach.
On January 4, UGA will face Joni Taylor for the first time in Athens since she left UGA in 2021 to coach Texas A&M. The Aggies defeated UGA 75-73 last season in College Station, Texas.
Three of UGA's next four conference games will be on the road — at Arkansas (Jan. 7), at Florida (Jan. 14) and at Missouri (Jan. 18) — and one at home against Alabama (Jan. 11).
To round out January, Ole Miss travels to Athens on Jan. 21 for their first of two matchups on the schedule, and the Lady Bulldogs will take a trip to Auburn on Jan. 29.
February opens with four games, three at home against Tennessee (Feb. 1), Kentucky (Feb. 4) and Vanderbilt (Feb. 11), and one on the road to Mississippi State on Feb. 8.
UGA travels to perennial national title contender South Carolina on Feb. 18, followed by a trip to Ole Miss on Feb. 22.
The Lady Bulldogs host rival Florida on Feb. 25, and coach Kim Mulkey and reigning national champion LSU will follow in Athens on Feb. 29. Georgia closes the regular season in Nashville, Tenn. against Vanderbilt on March 3.
The SEC Tournament will begin on March 6 in Greenville, S.C. Tipoff and broadcast schedules will be released at a later date.
