Here's how to watch Kansas State women's basketball vs. Kansas in the Sunflower Showdown

MANHATTAN — The Kansas State women's will try to remain unbeaten atop the Big 12 standings on Saturday but must do so without its star player.

All-America center Ayoka Lee had surgery on her ankle Friday and will not me in the lineup for the No. 7-ranked Wildcats' Sunflower Showdown matchup against Kansas at Bramlage Coliseum. She is expected to miss approximately four weeks.

With Lee back after missing last season with a knee injury, the Wildcats are off to a 17-1 start with a 6-0 Big 12 record. They have not played since beating No. 10 Texas at home last Saturday, 61-58, after their Wednesday game at TCU was canceled.

KU, which was expected to contend for the Big 12 title after winning the WNIT a year ago, have had a disappointing start to the season at 9-8 overall with a 2-4 league mark, but they have won two of their last three games, including an 87-66 upset of Baylor on Jan. 10.

Lee has been K-State's leader with 19.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, followed by point guard Serena Sundell with 10.6 points and 4.8 assists, and Gabby Gregory with 9.0 points and 3.7 assists. But in league play, Sundell is averaging 13.4 points, Jaelyn Glenn 9.8, Gregory 9.4, and redshirt freshman Louisville transfer Zyanna Walker 9.0.

Freshman guard S'Mya Nichols averages 14.1 points, center Taiyanna Jackson 12.4 and 9.9 rebounds, and Holly Kersgieter 12.1 points for KU.
