Here's how the MHSAA football playoff brackets could look for Greater Lansing teams

The high school football playoff brackets will be unveiled Sunday evening.

And with just one game remaining in the regular season, 23 teams from Greater Lansing are in position to make the playoff field.

How could the paths toward winning state championships look for area teams? High school football mapetology site snooze2you.com provides a glimpse with a projected look at the brackets in all 10 divisions.

League champions Mason, Portland, Corunna, Pewamo-Westphalia and Ithaca are in line to be top seeds for their districts, while Portland St. Patrick is the top seed for its 8-player football region.

There’s the potential to have an all local district in Division 4 and Division 7. CAAC White members Portland, Sexton, Charlotte and Ionia could end up in the same Division 4 district. In Division 7, Perry and CMAC members Pewamo-Westphalia, Bath and Laingsburg all are part of the same district in the site’s projections of how things could look Sunday.

Among the other potential scenarios mapped out on the site is Corunna and Williamston being in a district featuring all four teams ranked among the top nine in playoff points in Division 5. Corunna enters the week ranked No. 2 in playoffs points, while Williamston is No. 7. Pontiac Notre Dame Prep and Macomb Lutheran North are also part of the district.
