Here's a look at the three Oshkosh and Fond du Lac high school softball teams headed to the state tournament

The 47th Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association state softball tournament is Thursday through Saturday at Goodman Diamond in Madison.

Ticket prices are $11 per session for quarterfinals and semifinals, $25 for an all-day ticket Thursday and Friday, and $9 for each championship game Saturday. Tickets can be purchased on the WIAA website.

Oshkosh West has qualified in Division 1, Mayville in Division 3 and Oakfield in Division 5.

Here’s a look at the opening matchups involving the three Oshkosh and Fond du Lac area teams.

Division 1

Oshkosh West (25-4) vs. Sun Prairie East (24-4)

When: 10 a.m. Thursday.

About the Wildcats: Oshkosh West, the third seed, is at state for the second season in a row and the ninth time overall. The Wildcats advanced with a 2-1 victory over Watertown in the sectional final after finishing second in the Fox Valley Association to Kaukauna. Oshkosh West has won six in a row and 11 of the last 12. Junior Braelee Jodarski and senior Brianna Bougie lead the team with .411 batting averages. Jodarski has six home runs and 36 RBIs. Senior Kathryn Bergin is batting .404 with four homers and 29 RBIs. West is loaded in the circle with three pitching aces: Bougie (11-3, 1.23 ERA), junior Alayna Sadowska (10-1, 2.58 ERA) and Jodarski (2-0, 1.21 ERA).

About the Cardinals: Sun Prairie East, the No. 6 seed, is at state for the first time since the school district split into two schools this year. Before the split, Sun Prairie finished runner-up last season and qualified for state five straight times. The Cardinals were champions of the Big Eight Conference and advanced to state with a 7-0 win over Madison Memorial in the sectional final. They have won nine in a row and 13 of the last 14. Junior Tayler Baker is batting .461 with eight homers and 27 RBIs. Baker is also 16-3 in the circle with a 0.81 ERA.

Division 3

Mayville (19-4) vs. Mishicot (21-5)

When: Noon Friday.

About the Cardinals: Mayville, the No. 3 seed, won the Division 2 state championship in 1999 and finished runner-up in 1997. This season, it notched an 8-6 win over Lakeside Lutheran in the sectional final to advance to state. The Cardinals finished in a tie with Winnebago Lutheran for first place in the Flyway Conference. Mayville has won 12 of the last 13 games. Junior Addy Youngbeck is batting .385 with three homers and 23 RBIs. Sophomore Allie Schwirtz is hitting .307 with two homers and 23 RBIs, and junior Hannah Wolf has hit four homers. Schwirtz leads the Cardinals in the circle with a 16-3 record and 1.49 ERA.

About Mishicot: Mishicot, the second seed, is making its fifth state appearance. It won the Division 4 championship in 2021. Mishicot advanced to state with a 6-0 victory over Peshtigo after winning the Big East Conference. Three of Mishicot’s losses are to Division 1 opponents Kimberly, Ashwaubenon and Bay Port. Junior Katelyn Callahan is batting .500 with four homers and 26 RBIs. Sophomore Karsyn Krause has a team-high 39 RBIs. Junior Cora Stodola has six homers and 33 RBIs. Stodola is 20-4 with a 2.23 ERA in the circle.

Division 5

Oakfield (24-3) vs. Assumption (19-2)

When: 8 a.m. Friday.

About the Oaks: Third-seeded Oakfield has won six state titles and is making its 16th trip to state. The Oaks advanced to state with a 7-5 win over Belmont in the sectional final and have won six games in a row and 14 of the last 16. The only losses have been to New Holstein, Marshall and Chilton. Junior Aly Lamonska had a team-best 32 RBIs heading into sectionals. Junior Alyvia Robinson had 30 RBIs. Lamonska is also the top pitcher for the Oaks with an 18-3 record and 0.77 ERA through regionals.

About the Royals: Assumption, the No. 2 seed, is the defending champion with a 3-1 win over Barneveld in last year’s title game. It is making its seventh trip to state. The Royals won the Division 3 title in 2001 and the Division 4 title in 2005. They advanced with a 5-0 win over Seneca in the sectional final. Assumption’s only loss is to Pacelli. Sophomore Anna Schooley leads the team with a .537 batting average and 37 RBIs. Senior Ava Schill is batting .517 with two home runs and 28 RBIs. Schill is also the top pitcher with a 15-1 record and 1.12 ERA.
