Coming into the final round Sunday at 5-under par, McCarthy is in a position to take his first Memorial Tournament title ahead of golfers including Rory Mclroy and Jordan Spieth.

Golfer Denny McCarthy's best finish at the Memorial Tournament was in 2022
McCarthy is building momentum off his Memorial Tournament finish in 2022.
As Billy Horschel took first place, McCarthy tied for fifth with Max Homa, Will Zalatoris, Sahith Theegala and Daniel Berger, finishing 6-under par.
After combining for 7-under through his first two rounds in 0222, McCarthy finished 1-over par in the third round before he hit even in the fourth round, collecting $411,600 of the $12 million purse.
Denny McCarthy has one career victory
McCarthy has only one win to his name.
In 2018, McCarthy won the Web.com Tour Championship posting 23-under par for his only win in 48 Korn Ferry Tour events. In three years on the tour, he recorded 10 top-10 finishes.
In the PGA Tour, which McCarthy joined in 2015, McCarthy has two third-place finishes and 18 top-10 finishes, but no second or first place finishes.
Denny McCarthy has not earned more than $525,000 from an event
McCarthy's largest paycheck from an event came during the 2023 season, earning $525,000 when he tied for eighth place at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Over the course of his career, McCarthy has earned nearly $10 million.
If he wins the 2023 Memorial Tournament championship, McCarthy will take home $3.6 million.
