Here's the 2024 Shreveport Times All-City girls’ basketball team

Here’s a look at the 2023-24 Shreveport Times All-City girls basketball team selected after consultation with area coaches. The team covers schools in Caddo and Bossier parishes.

Player of the Year

Chloe Larry

Parkway, Sr.

Why selected: After connecting on the most miraculous shot ever in an LHSAA semifinal, Larry willed her team to a second consecutive LHSAA Non-Select Division I state title. The MVP of the title game and in District 1-5A, and the 2022 Times Female Athlete of the Year, averaged 19.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.6 steal and four blocked shots. She has signed with Tennessee Tech.

Coach of the Year

Gloria Williams

Parkway

Why selected: This recognition could have gone to Benton’s Mary Ward, who retired after 18 years and a 5A title, or it could have gone to Haughton’s Jenna Bolin, who directed the Lady Buccaneers to their best season in recent years, or to Huntington’s Brian Shyne, who coached his team to the state semifinals. But it’s hard to argue with winning a second consecutive title in Louisiana’s toughest class, especially when few outside of SOBO expected the 30-6 overall record and 14-0 District 1-5A mark.
