Help us pick Athlete of the Week for events ending Sept. 23

Help us pick Athlete of the Week No. 3 for the fall season from the coverage areas of the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin, Elmira Star-Gazette, Ithaca Journal and Corning Leader.

Nominees are based on results reported to bgmsports@gannett.com or events covered by sports reporters from the publications.

A winner will be announced Friday. Voting is open until the end of day Wednesday.

Week 1 Athlete of the Week: Corning soccer standout Carter Rosno

Week 2 Athlete of the Week: Watkins Glen soccer player Sasha Honrath

This week's nominees, based on events of Sept. 18-23.

Ryan Anderson, Horseheads boys soccer: He registered a hat trick, with all three goals in the first half, in Saturday's 10-0 triumph over Waverly after scoring the lone Blue Raiders goal in a 1-1 tie against Elmira.

William Brosius, Vestal golf: He fired a 1-over-par 38 as Vestal handed Union-Endicott its first dual loss of the season, 204-214. Brosius added another 38 to help the Golden Bears to a victory over Elmira.

Anah Huston, Whitney Point field hockey: She registered a hat trick as Whitney Point blanked Walton, 9-0. Earlier in the week Huston had an assist in a 3-1 victory over Windsor.

Madi Jones, Elmira volleyball: She spearheaded wins over Ithaca and Horseheads. Jones went 19-for-20 serving with 14 kills and nine aces in a 3-2 victory against Ithaca. She came back with 10 kills in a 3-0 sweep of Horseheads.

Vinny Mancini, Maine-Endwell football: He scored four touchdowns in the Spartans' 43-42 win against Corning on Friday. Mancini had touchdown runs of 60, 61 and 23 yards along with a 78-yard kickoff return for a TD. He rushed for 155 yards on just five carries.

Angie McKane, Corning swimming: She won two events and broke pool records in the 200-yard IM, 100 freestyle and 50 freestyle Saturday at the Girls Invitational in the Glen. Earlier in the week, McKane broke Union-Endicott pool records in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly in a dual meet against the Tigers.
