Hayward and Burke combine for 52, Jazz sneak past Timberwolves

Gordon Hayward and Trey Burke both finished with 26 points to lead the Utah Jazz to a close victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, 100-94. Utah (11-21) picked up the win after falling to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.

Hayward went 9-16 (3-4 from three-point range) and 5-5 from the free throw line, in an efficient offensive performance. Enes Kanter contributed 14 points and 12 rebounds for Utah as well. Shabazz Muhammad had a big game for Minnesota despite the loss, putting up 30 points on 10-17 shooting (5-6 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 5-5 from the free throw line. He also added seven rebounds.

Minnesota (5-25) has now lost nine consecutive games.

Coming up next, the Jazz play the Atlanta Hawks, who are 23-8 on the year. The Timberwolves match up with the Sacramento Kings, currently 13-18 this season. The Jazz have a 0-1 record against Atlanta this season. The Timberwolves are 0-1 versus Sacramento this season.
