Hawkeyes’ offensive linemen headline Pro Football Focus’ All-College team of last decade

Come to the Iowa Hawkeyes, develop, excel on the field, and go dominate in the NFL. Wash, rinse, repeat. It isn’t a difficult recipe to follow and Iowa does it as well as just about anyone in the entire country.

Two of their current stars in the NFL, center Tyler Linderbaum for the Baltimore Ravens, and offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, did exactly that recipe and it provided them with enormous amounts of success.

In fact, the two of them did so well with the Hawkeyes that they find themselves as two of the five offensive linemen named to Pro Football Focus‘ All-College since 2014, the creation of PFF. Iowa is one of two teams to have multiple players represented. The Alabama Crimson Tide is the other.

Tristan Wirfs’ accolades include being littered among multiple First Team All-American teams while also being named the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year by winning the Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year. Wirfs was drafted No. 13 overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2020 draft.

Tyler Linderbaum won the Rimington Trophy which is given to the nation’s best center. He also belongs to the exclusive club of being a unanimous consensus All-American during his 2021 season.

The two Hawkeyes are the sole Big Ten members represented in this group which is a testament to the ability of Iowa to turn their good players into great players that can perform on the field.
