Hartwick men roll to 15-2 win over Mount Saint Mary

Mar. 12—The Hartwick men's lacrosse team cruised to a 15-2 win over Mount Saint Mary College Tuesday at home.

The game remained scoreless through a quarter but the Hawks scored five in the second and four in the third before capping off the victory with a 6-0 fourth quarter.

Shayne Kerrigan and Garrett Frost each tallied three goals and one assist while Seth Bello, Colby Simonetti, Spencer Hogaboom, Tyler Nocito all scored twice and Liam McManus scored once in the win.

Chris Andersen and Kaiden Johnson had seven and one saves, respectively, for the Hawks.

Hartwick improves to 2-2 and will visit Clarkson Saturday.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

Rutgers-Camden 17, SUNY Oneonta 5

The SUNY Oneonta baseball team fell to Rutgers-Camden 17-5 in eight innings at the Russmatt Central Florida Invitational Tuesday.

The Raptors scored eight in the first inning and the Red Dragons responded with three in the first and one in the second but were unable to inch any closer.

Logan Hutter went 2-for-3 with a two-RBI double while Josh Gilkey, Joey Dwyer and Liam Kaseta each drove in a run in the loss.

Logan Kaufman struck out two while allowing no earned runs over four and one third innings for the Red Dragons.

Oneonta falls to 5-5 and will play a doubleheader with Minnesota Morris Wednesday in Auburndale.

COLLEGE SOFTBALL

Lewis & Clark 8, SUNY Oneonta 3 SUNY Oneonta 5, Lewis & Clark 4

The SUNY Oneonta softball team split a doubleheader with Lewis & Clark Tuesday in Portland, Or. The Red Dragons dropped the first game 8-3 and won the second game 5-4.

Jamie Carello doubled and drove in a run in the first game while Sara Cartier, Adriana Fiori and Julia Serena each tallied hits in the loss.

Marissa Dionisio, Cadence Brennan and Angelena Scalere combined to strike out six over six innings.

Oneonta scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back in the second game despite a Lewis & Clark rally to pull within one.

Ella Stewart went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI while Victoria Hussey went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the win.

Emily Brown was the winning pitcher, striking out three while allowing two earned runs over four innings.

Oneonta improves to 1-3 and will take on Pacific in a doubleheader in Forest Grove, OR Wednesday.

MEN'S TENNIS

The SUNY Oneonta men's tennis team edged Nazareth in a 5-4 victory Monday.

The Red Dragons' top four singles players all earned victories, as August LePique, William Schmid, Chris Chippari and Brayden Stuart each won in straight sets.

In doubles action, LePique and Schmid won the tiebreaking match 8-3 in first doubles.
