Guessing the top 10 highest-rated Iowa Hawkeyes in EA Sports College Football 25

After a decade-long wait, the return of one of the most highly-anticipated video games is finally coming. EA Sports has announced that this summer will be the official return of EA Sports College Football 25.

The game was discontinued after NCAA Football was released in 2013. This pause came amid the strife around paying players for their name, image, and likeness. Obviously, it goes without saying that NIL has taken leaps and bounds to allow players to be correctly compensated.

With the return of the video game, fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes are eager to see their favorite team and its best players as they lead them to glory in dynasty mode. This is every Hawkeyes’ fans chance to light up the scoreboard and put up truly “video game” numbers on offense.

Ahead of the release, here is a guess at who are the top 10 highest-rated Iowa Hawkeyes in EA Sports College Football 25.

Honorable mention: Cade McNamara, QB

Rating prediction: 76 Overall

Cade McNamara is on the outside looking in. He undoubtedly has the talent to thrust himself into the top 10 highest-rated players in this game but will see his initial rating weighed down a bit by his injury history.

No. 10: Deontae Craig, DL

Rating Prediction: 78 Overall

Starting us off is a veteran on the defensive front. Craig may not stand out in the ratings, but he is going to be a consistent starter who can plug up gaps and have the Iowa linebackers cleaning up behind him.

No. 9: Quinn Schulte, S

Rating prediction: 79 Overall

Quinn Schulte’s rating will be carried by his intelligence and instincts. While never being the strongest or fastest, he may be one of the smartest players on Iowa in the new game. That earns Schulte a spot in the top 10.

No. 8: Jermari Harris, CB

Rating prediction: 81 Overall

Similar to Schulte, Jermari Harris has been around the block once or twice. He has seen a ton of offensive schemes and brings prior starting experience with him. He earns a spot in the top 10 as a member of one of the video game’s best secondaries.

No. 7: Kaleb Brown, WR

Rating prediction: 83 Overall

Our first offensive player entering the list is Kaleb Brown. There may not be a player ready to step up more than Kaleb Brown next year. His natural speed, agility, and raw talent are going to boost his overall rating and make him a favorite target for Hawkeyes’ fans to throw to in the game.

No. 6: Xavier Nwankpa, S

Manning the other safety position is Xavier Nwankpa. He is entering his third year and his recruiting background paired with raw athleticism earned him this spot. In the new video game, he will be able to cover serious ground with his speed rating.

Rating prediction: 86 Overall

As steady as they come, Nick Jackson starts off our top five players. In his first year with Iowa, he was a star. His tackling and ability to cover ground are going to make him a must-start in the new video game on defense, especially against the newcomers to the Big Ten.

No. 4: Luke Lachey, TE

Rating prediction: 87 Overall

Luke Lachey could have left this year and likely been drafted. The creators know that Iowa produces tight ends better than anyone else and that helps Lachey’s rating. Pair that with his hands and his run after the catch and he could be a real-life and video game All-American.

No. 3: Sebastian Castro, CASH

Rating prediction: 90 Overall

Sebastian Castro is a do-it-all Swiss Army Knife for Iowa and that sort of skillset makes video game ratings soar. He can tackle with the best of them, intercept the ball, and play lockdown coverage. For those that enjoy controlling the defense, Castro is your human joystick.

No. 2: Jay Higgins, LB

Rating prediction: 93 Overall

The Hawkeyes’ leading tackler is back for another year. Jay Higgins was unbelievable last year with his nose for the ball. The creators are going to reward his tackling ability and his size with a very high rating.

No. 1: Kadyn Proctor, OL

Rating prediction: 95 Overall

It had to be Kadyn Proctor. The highest recruit to ever join the Iowa program is going to be among the highest-rated offensive lineman in the game. Fans can run the ball behind him any time they need yards and trust him to hold up as they drop back looking to sling the deep ball.
