Green Bay doctor named new president of Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc.

GREEN BAY – Dr. Donald Sipes of Green Bay was elected president of Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc.

Sipes is an ob/gyn for Aurora Health Care Medical Group. He succeeds Tom Konop as president of the organization. Other new officers include Randy Brice as vice president and Mark Higgins as treasurer. Brice is retired as an independent investment broker and Higgins is a retired regional president for Johnson Bank.

Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc. and the Packers Hall of Fame museum are separate but related entities. Hall of Fame Inc. chooses and inducts players into the hall and collects its own Packers memorabilia. Its collection is generally older than that of the team-run museum, with more from the Packers' earliest years. The museum, as an organization, came into being more recently and its collection is weighted toward the last 30 years or so. The combined archives have more than 80,000 items, about 5,000 of which are displayed in the museum in the Lambeau Field Atrium. The two organizations work hand-in-hand and share an archives storage facility.
