Greater Canton Amateur Billiard Association to induct 2023 hall of fame class

The Greater Canton Amateur Billiard Association will induct four new members at their 28th annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 1 at Chateau Michele in Canton.

Tickets are available at Clark & Son Billiard Supply in Canton through Sept. 23. More information is available at www.gcaba.org. This year's class is as follows.

Gerald Baxter
Gerald Baxter

Gerald Baxter

Baxter was a member of BCA 8-Ball State Championship teams in 2016 and 2018. He was on the runner-up team in 2019. In VNEA play, Baxter was on a runner-up team in the 2005 Open 8-Ball Championships and the 2019 Masters 8-Ball Championships. In individual events, Baxter has countless regional tournament victories and two league MVP awards.

Pat Forkin
Pat Forkin

Pat Forkin

Forkin was a member of the legendary "Last Resort I" team of the early 1980s that would win a Massillon Tavern 8-Ball Championship. Forkin eventually joined a team from "On the Snap" that would take fifth in the OCMA State 8-Ball Championships. Over his 26-year career, Forkin played on winning teams in both Canton and Akron. Individually, Forkin won more than 70% of his games every season and compiled three league MVP awards.

Jan Gates

Gates was a member of the 2002 BCA Regional 8-Ball championship team. In VNEA State 8-Ball Championships, Gates has been on one runner-up and two teams that finished in third place. In singles play, Gates finished third in both BCA and VNEA State 8-Ball Championships in 2002. Over 25 years, Gates has won regional events all over Ohio and surrounding states.

Scott Randall

Scott Randall

Randall was a member of the 2019 VNEA State 8-Ball Open Championship team. He also was a member of the runner-up team in the 2019 BCA State 8-Ball Championships. In singles play, Randall has logged a third-place finish in the VNEA State 8-Ball Open Championship and a top-eight finish in the VNEA International 8-Ball Open Championships in Las Vegas. Randall was selected as the GCABA Male Player of the Year in 2004.
