Grandview Speedway to begin 2024 season on April 6

Nov. 14—Grandview Speedway will open its 2024 season with the seventh annual Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker on Saturday, April 6, it was announced Tuesday.

The one-third mile dirt track located outside Bechtelsville in Washington Township will host its 62nd season of racing.

While it will continue to host weekly racing featuring the NASCAR-sanctioned modified and sportsman divisions on Saturday nights, Grandview also announced the dates for several of its special events in 2024.

The track will host the winged 410 sprint cars in the Thunder on the Hill Racing Series Hodnett Cup on Tuesday, July 2. It will again be part of the Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek series and feature a winner's prize of $10,000.

The 54th annual Freedom 76 — the track's crown jewel event for the 358 modifieds — is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21. The event will be preceded by the 11th annual Freedom 38 for the sportsman division on Friday, Sept. 20. The rain date for the Freedom 76 is Saturday, Sept. 28.

The United States Auto Club National Sprint Car Series will return to Grandview with the Thunder on the Hill Racing Series Jesse Hockett Classic on Tuesday, June 11. The annual wingless 410 sprint car race will again be part of USAC's "Eastern Storm."

Grandview will host its preseason practice on Saturday, March 30, at noon. The practice is open to the public and grandstand admission is free.
