Graham to play Virginia High at Lebanon

Feb. 29—BLUEFIELD, Va. — The Graham G-Men will have their fifth meeting of the season with Southwest District rival Virginia High when the two teams meet at Lebanon High School in a VHSL Class 2 state semifinal showdown at 6 p.m. on Friday night.

The Bearcats beat Graham 61-58 in the Region 2D championship game last weekend, winning on a buzzer beater by Te'ron Woolen.

That outcome sent the G-Men on the road Tuesday to face Region C champion Greta at Altavista High School for the VHSL Class 2 state quarterfinals. Graham (18-8) prevailed 71-65 and on Virginia High's end, the Bearcats beat Martinsville 50-36 to set up Friday's rematch.

The winner of Friday's winner-take-all showdown will proceed to VCU's Siegel Center in Richmoond to face the winner of Friday's state semifinal game between John Marshall (23-3) and Bruton (19-7) at Huguenot High School in Richmond.

Friday's winners will advance to the VHSL championships March 7-9.
