The Milwaukee Bucks' beloved slam-dunking, mean-mugging, Chick-fil-A nugget-eating world champion and MVP has been named GQ's 2021 athlete of the year.

Giannis Antetokounmpo will be gracing the cover of the magazine as a part of the publication's 26th annual "Men of the Year" installment, which celebrates people who have had a "profound impact on our culture," the Monday announcement said.

Antetokounmpo is in the company of GQ's musician of the year, Lil Nas X, and superhero of the year, Tom Holland.

The magazine is calling 2021 "The Year of the Brave" and said all three cover stars "embody the spirit of bravery."

The announcement highlighted Antetokounmpo's "inspiring life story, unrivaled determination in competition, preternatural charisma" and "awe-inspiring" NBA playoffs performance. The Bucks took down the Phoenix Suns in Game 6 of the NBA Finals in July to win their first championship title in 50 years.

Antetokounmpo has made headlines recently when the Bucks met with President Joe Biden at the White House, and for a diaper drive Antetokounmpo and Mariah Riddlesprigger are leading to celebrate the birth of their second son and help Milwaukee-area families in need.

GQ's story on Antetokounmpo is scheduled to be released Tuesday.

This isn't the first time the publication has covered the NBA superstar. In the past, they've written about a young photographer who got to photograph Antetokounmpo in Greece and a new watch he sported after the playoffs.
