Welcome to "Good Morning, Illini Nation," your daily dose of college basketball news from Illini beat writer and AP Top 25 voter Scott Richey. He'll offer up insights every morning on Brad Underwood's team and college basketball at large:

Illinois added to its Class of 2025 recruiting board this week with an offer to Lloyd Memorial (Ky.) star E.J. Walker. The 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward is ranked as a four-star recruit by ESPN and a three-star prospect by 247Sports, Rivals and On3.

Walker holds a slew of other offers. In addition to Illinois, with Chester Frazier (unsurprisingly) leading the recruitment, he boasts high-major offers from West Virginia, Purdue, Xavier, Minnesota, Ohio State, Missouri, Wisconsin, Texas A&M, Arizona State, California, Virginia Tech, South Carolina and Butler. Thirteen more mid-major programs have also offered the Erlanger, Ky., native, including Youngstown State, Duquesne, Northern Kentucky, Ohio, Toledo, Stony Brook, Dayton Rhode Island, Georgia State, Charleston, Grambling State, Akron and Western Kentucky.

Walker is the leading scorer and rebounder for Lloyd Memorial, which is 15-5 on the season and has won 10 of its last 11 games. Walker is averaging 17.1 points and 10.2 rebounds, while shooting 59 percent from the field overall, 38 percent from three-point range and 75 percent at the free throw line.
