Golf-McDowell leads by two after first round in Shanghai

By Andrew Both SHANGHAI, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Northern Irishman Graeme McDowell plundered seven birdies to earn the first round lead with a five-under-par 67 at the WGC-HSBC Champions tournament here on Thursday. Despite two late bogeys, McDowell had no complaints after taking a two-stroke advantage over a group of six players including U.S. Open champion Martin Kaymer of Germany at the demanding Sheshan course. The $8.5 million tournament is the biggest in Asia, and the only World Golf Championships event played outside the United States. (Editing by Sudipto Ganguly)
