Glenn freshman Lydia Goodsell leads All-Northern Indiana Conference girls track as MVP

John Glenn High School freshman Lydia Goodsell has been named the girls track Northern Indiana Conference Most Valuable Player.

Goodsell is first team NIC in three events to earn the honor — the 100 (12.39), the 200 (25.57) and the long jump (18-5). Mark Yoder of Bremen and Adrian Swanson of South Bend Washington have been named co-Coaches of the Year.

NIC golf: Penn wins NIC golf tournament and overall title from Saint Joseph on fifth-man score

Penn and Washington lead the pack with four first-team picks each.

The Kingmen are led by veteran distance runner Mary Eubank in the 1,600 (5:11.93) and the 3,200 (11:50.96), with Anna McCullough earning first-team in the high jump (5-0) and Jill Pletcher in the pole vault (10-0).

Washington's Panthers are led by hurdler Adrianna Swanson in the 100 (15.38) and 300 (46.39), along with being a member of the first-team 4x100 relay (50.38) squad. Terryah Leonard was also a part of that relay team and a first-teammer in the 400 (59.67). Completing the 400 relay team are Janiya Wilson and Kendall Ivory.

Adams earned top honors in the 4x800 relay (9:50.10) with the team of Elise Bulaoro, Emily Shepherd, Isabella Soens and Agnes Hasler. Bremen pinned down the 4x400 relay (4:06.87) with the squad of Sara Sahlhoff, Elle Libey, Kila Foster and Emma Kincaid.

Ava Decker of Elkhart is first-team discus (134-10) and Jimtown's Brooklyn King is tops in the shot put (37-10).
