Giants vs. Seahawks: 5 things to know about Week 4
The New York Giants (1-2) host the Seattle Seahawks (2-1) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Monday Night Football in Week 4.
Here are five things to know before this week’s matchup.
The state of the teams
The Seahawks opened the 2023 regular season schedule with a home loss to the Los Angeles Rams, 30-13. They followed that up with two victories: a 37-31 overtime road win in Detroit against the Lions before defeating Carolina at home, 37-27, last week.
The Giants were shut out, 40-0, by Dallas in Week 1 and overcame a 21-point defect to nip the Cardinals, 31-28, in the desert in Week 2. Last Thursday, they were dominated, 30-12, by the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara.
The series
This will be the 21st meeting between the two clubs dating back to 1976 when the Seahawks entered the NFL as an expansion team.
Each team has won 10 games apiece with Seattle winning five of the last six meetings since 2011, including last year’s meeting, 27-13, on October 30 in Seattle.
The teams have never met in the postseason.
Seattle is solid in Monday night games
This will be the Seahawks’ only Monday Night Football appearance this season.
Seattle’s .700 winning percentage (28-12 record) on Monday night is the best all-time in the history of the NFL and they are 33-14-1 (12-4 on Monday nights) in prime time since the 2010 season.
In 29 primetime home games dating back to the 2010 season, the Seahawks hold a 23-6 record.
Giants are living in prime time
This will be the third prime time game in four weeks for the Giants, and their first of three Monday matchups this season.
They played Week 1 at home abasing Dallas on Sunday Night Football and last week on Thursday night in San Francisco. They lost both games.
The Giants are 25-46-1 on Monday Night Football, 9-14 at home.
The Giants will play host to two Monday night games in the same season for only the second time in the 54-year history of Monday Night Football and the second time in four years.
In 2020, the Giants played host to Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay on Monday night.

The Giants are -5 in turnover ratio. Only the Minnesota Vikings and Las Vegas Raiders (both at minus-7) are worse this season. They have five giveaways and no takeaways in their first three games.
