Giants select Tristan Wirfs in CBS Sports’ 2020 re-draft

Since the conclusion of the 2020 NFL regular season, we’ve seen a slew of re-drafts get published. And for the New York Giants, the results have been similar. . . but different.

Pro Football Focus had the Giants selecting offensive lineman Tristan Wirfs in their re-draft, which was a thought shared by ESPN. However, Bleacher Report had the Giants going with Mekhi Becton in their re-draft.

Now CBS Sports has entered the fray and they fall in line with both PFF and ESPN, having the Giants pass on Andrew Thomas in favor of Wirfs.

The Giants get another opportunity to pick the best offensive tackle in the class.

In this scenario, Thomas slipped all the way to pick No. 32, landing with the offensive line-needy Kansas City Chiefs.

It’s hard to argue with this take after one season. Thomas struggled early (due in part to an injury) but finished strong, while Wirfs started strong and ended with a solid performance in Super Bowl LV. And while one season will not define their respective careers, Wirfs is currently the better of the two.
