Facing a 14-3 deficit at halftime, No. 1 UGA (3-0) came out of the locker room firing in the second half, scoring 21 unanswered points and earning a 24-14 victory to extend its winning streak to 20 games. Georgia rode a dominant third quarter to victory, allowing only 32 yards compared to its 197. Quarterback Carson Beck and the Bulldogs offense also held the ball for 10:30, compared to the Gamecocks’ 4:30 in the quarter.

In his first career start in SEC conference play, Beck completed 27 of 35 passes for 269 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. UGA was led by Daijun Edwards on the ground, who carried the ball 20 times for 118 yards and a touchdown. Dillon Bell and Cash Jones punched in Georgia’s other two rushing touchdowns in the game.

South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler was near-perfect in the first half, completing 16 of 18 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown. But in the second half, the Bulldogs found an answer for the fifth-year signal caller and former Oklahoma transfer. Rattler was a mere 6 for 24 in the second half for a pedestrian 104 yards. He also threw two interceptions in the fourth quarter, the first of which was picked off by Dan Jackson and the second by Tykee Smith.
