Georgia football vs. Georgia Tech: Kendall Milton scores his second TD

ATLANTA — Top-ranked Georgia football renews its rivalry with Georgia Tech Saturday night at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

It’s the final regular-season game before the Bulldogs clash with Alabama for the SEC championship next Saturday.

This is the 115th game in the series, according to Georgia. Or the 117th by Georgia Tech’s count.

Georgia Tech is bowl eligible after downing Syracuse last week, but the Bulldogs are still a 24½-point favorite.

“It’s hate week,” Georgia sophomore safety Malaki Starks said. “Everything kind of goes up a little bit more. Everything kind of ramps up. Georgia Tech week around here. It’s nothing playful about it.”

Georgia Tech hasn’t knocked off a No. 1-ranked team since beating Virginia 41-38 in 1990 during its national championship season.

Yellow Jackets coach Brent Key went 3-1 against Georgia as a Georgia Tech offensive lineman.

“I just challenged our guys that we’ve got to have a belief that we’re going to win the game,” Key said this week on SiriusXM radio.

Georgia is up to 114 rushing yards after a 3-yard touchdown from Daijun Edwards. Oscar Delp had a big catch to set up the Bulldogs for the score. Georgia leads 21-13 with 1:14 to go in the first half.

Georgia Tech adds another field goal to trim lead| 8:43 p.m.

Georgia Tech got a holding penalty and then a fumbled exchange and had to settle for a 45-yard field goal. Georgia's lead is cut to 14-13 with 6:06 to go in the first half.

Kendall Milton touchdown puts Georgia football ahead | 8:30 p.m.

Georgia is starting to have its way up front. The Bulldogs went 75 yards, getting a 3-yard touchdown run by Kendall Milton. The senior now has 57 yards on 6 carries.

Haynes King, Georgia Tech lead 10-7 | 8:18 p.m.

Georgia Tech's Haynes King is hurting Georgia with his legs and his arm. The Yellow Jackets were driving but opted to kick a chip shot field goal of 25 yards from Aidan Birr for a 10-7 lead with 35 seconds left in the quarter. King has thrown for 68 yards and rushed for 25.

Without Brock Bowers, Georgia evens game | 8:06 p.m.

Georgia tight end Brock Bowers is out tonight, but the Bulldogs are now in the end zone.

Carson Beck hit Dominic Lovett in the back left corner of the end zone for a 29-yard touchdown. A previous play interception was reversed when it was ruled the ball hit the ground before caroming up and being picked.
